Based on OPs location in the World, I think CR8 refers to this vehicle..
http://www.drivearabia.com/ultimatec...2009-2010-/149 Looks like a different name on a cross between a G8 and GTO... Though, it's from Holden, so I would expect it to look like it does... the 6.0 and 6.2 have around the same power levels as the LS2 and LS3 for the GTO/G8/SS here. |

The 0-100 KPH or 0-60 MPH shows to be at 5.0 sec. The SS is faster at 4.7 sec or less.

Yes, this looks like a G8 GXP / Vauxhall VXR8. I am assuming the "C" in CR8 stands for Commodore, as in the Holden Commodore variant released by their HSV performance division. It's not the same as a GTO, as I believe that was based on the 3rd Gen Holden Monaro.
It's a damned good sedan and has very good performance for the price. If you need to haul things around and carry friends, it's definitely more practical than a Camaro.

I would definitely go for the c8, its essential a rebadged g8, which we should be getting in the next year.

Well, they listed 5.0 and 5.0-5.1 on that page HumanWiki provided, so I'm going to assume that they're being precise and not giving ball park numbers. The same website gives 4.6 (6M) and 4.8 (6A) seconds for the Camaro. So I'd say their numbers are good.

IMHO the Camaro is a MUCH MUCH more interesting design than the CR8 will ever be. The Camaro is much rarer compared to the CR8 in the middle east (with the normal Lumina, Lumina S, Lumina SS, and CR8 are practically everywhere you look).
Unless you regularly need to seat 4-5 people, really need the practicality of a sedan, and don't really care about being a few tenths of a second slower than a Camaro, then go for the CR8. It's the next best thing, being the "family man's" Camaro All I know is that for me, while i'm still young with no family, I'll take the Camaro any day of the week. Because the back seats are very decently sized and I rarely have more than one passenger. Whatever you choose please, please get a manual and not an automatic BTW, welcome to the site. The Used Camaro that you found is VERY expensive! I can help you find one for around 130000 Dirhams! And I understand the appeal of autos vs manuals, I just can't let myself miss out on all the fun that a manual offers. Yes, at first it was kind of a pain to get used to rowing the gears during traffic, but it became like second nature (to me at least) very quickly.
Good luck |
