You figure you'll drive it only on sunny days and that would be 10K miles a year? I drive mine daily now, be it rain, snow, or sun, and I only go 9K miles a year!

I understand the folks who want to keep the car pristine and never take it out when the road is not dry, and that's fine for them. When I have a car like this, however, I'm going to enjoy it every day. I can't see spending that kind of money, only to drive a no-fun beater daily...

And it is possible to keep the car really nice even as a daily driver. Mine is almost 4 years old now, and does not have scratch or swirl mark on it. It has some tiny, miniscule chips on the front bumper from road pebbles, etc., but you'd be hard-pressed to see them. The factory clearcoat paints nowadays are pretty tough, especially if you always keep the car waxed.

I wish I didn't have to but curcumstances require that it becomes my daily driver. I'm not exactly crying about it though

It will be my daily driver, I live in SouthEast Alabama so not much chance of snow and salt. And from what I understand if it snows everything closes down until it melts. Fine with me since I just get a day off.

will your Camaro SS be a daily driver?

will you depend on your SS for your daily driving duties? or will you just keep it as a weekend car?

23 mpg highway is pretty good for all the power you get and using your camaro everyday is not a bad idea.

i'm asking this because i currently own a 1997 honda prelude that gets me about 20 mpg city 28 mpg highway and i dont know if i should get rid of my beautiful lude or keep it as a daily beater and use my SS on the weekends.

what do you guys think?

and no i am not a ricer

Yes, mostly because it totally kicks my truck's butt in the mileage department.

Oh, and horsepower and torque. Kicks my truck's butt there too.

Got to go with yes here. I own a business with my wife and we take different cars most of the time. I gotta stay in the office late many times.

22 miles from home 20 of it is interstate.

Although I would like to drive it everyday, I probably won't. This will be one special car to me b/c 1) I've never owned a car 2) I've never owned a Hot Rod 3) I wanna keep this baby forever 4) I want to keep un-needed miles off of it. With all that said, it's gonna be hard at first not to drive it daily. And of course whenever I'm not in it and I see another BAD @SS 5th Gen. coming down the road, I'm gonna wish It was a daily driver.

As long as the roads aren't snowy. Silverado will handle that mess (like today)
