probabily like every other good GM car, get it right and CANCEL it.
No other cars being built on the platform, too expensive to build if you are the only car, besides the G8 on that platform.
With the government bailout, they are only going to push economy cars and the Volt, NO COVERAGE OF THE CAMARO.
Probably cheaper to just scrap the car and production line than build it, GM will run out of money at the end of March anyway, we can just but Aveo's.
did you notice that the company that did not take government money showed the 2010 mustang and GT500?
THE CAMARO IS DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just so you know, the Camaro SS was the only car in the entire SHOW that had a long line to get into. The 5th gen has been announced for some time now, but that does not mean there isn't any interest in it. If you would have seen the faces of those at NAIAS, you'd know this is one of the most anticipated cars of the last decade.

Personally, the Camaro is of course my favorite car, but I've heard a ton about it. I'd be more interested in NBC showing details of the Equinox, SRX, Cruze, etc. They're newer and less well known.

To Fbodfather:
my office is north of Tom Henry, and house near Rt. 68, you are welcome anytime, hopefully I will have my 2010 Camaro (politically incorect Camaro) by then.
But GM history is not on your side, remember the 1994 Impala SS, perfected in 1996 and CANCELLED, I had a 1994. Of course the 2002 Camaro, had a 2001. If all the attention is around the Camaro at all the auto shows, but no media coverage............I believe its marked for death. Hopefully GM can build the 10000 SS's that are ordered and we will have collectors cars.

Actually NBC is Dead!

No self respecting educated person would look to NBC for accurate news. NBC has become the worst of the worst, and is darn proud of it. It is no surprise to those of us that know NBC is the most biased mudslinger in the news business today. NBC is dead, not Camaro

THE CAMARO IS DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A) If the Camaro was indeed canceled, I would have heard about it long before you and would be holding the Ren. Cen. hostage right now demanding Oshawa to build me a Camaro.
B) The Camaro is basically old news. There isn't much more to see until production begins in March and people start getting their cars in. I'd say that the Barrett-Jackson auction was the last big thing we'll see for a little while about the Camaro.
C) GM unveiled a TON of brand-new, never-before-seen products at this year's Detroit Auto Show. These cars were absolutely stunning, enough that I am now reconsidering the Camaro to get a Buick LaCrosse or Regal instead. That's why you didn't see much about the Camaro, media focus was on the revealed cars.
D) The company that didn't BORROW federal money mortgaged everything they had, including their own badge.
E) The Malibu is a great GM vehicle. It hasn't been canceled. The CTS is awesome, it hasn't been canceled. The GMT-900s are still around. The Lambda crossovers are still in production. Corvette's still here. Now let's see, GM got the Invicta concept right, that's the new Buick LaCrosse. Provoq concept became the 2010 SRX. Orlando concept's approved for the US. Opel Insignia is approved for NA. Beat concept's coming in 2011 as the Chevy Spark. And we don't even need to mention how the Camaro concept ended up.

Seriously buddy. Epic fail.

Not only that, at the Houston Auto show, the Camaro display was packed! It was unbelievable how a huge area with such a concentration of people looking at 2 camaros next to each other.

the comments that were made were all 100% good...
