Good Lord!
If it's a Camaro, you're good! Get what best suits your needs and financial abilities. This garbage about the Six vs Eight cylinders is just that "GARBAGE!". Enjoy the car, whichever one you select. Just go with what best suits you!

Bottom line is get what you can afford and dont give a crap about what folks think. Of course the V6 guys think the v8 guys are snobs and pricks. Of course the V8 guys look at the v6 as a wannabee. That will never ever change...just decide on which side you want to land. Heck I stroked and SC mine so I could be the ultimate snob and look down my nose at all the stock SS guys...Just kidding. Enjoy whatevery you get and you are always welcome in our club V6 or V8.

What it all comes down to is what will make you happy. There are good arguments for the LT or the SS. Each has its good points and bad. Buy what YOU want and don't worry about what everyone else has to say. I don't think you could go wrong with either.
It would be a different story if you were trying to decide between a Camaro and Mustang - but we won't go there on this forum. Make your choice and be happy with it. If all else fails, then go for upgrades!

Well, he is probably looking at more than 5K. Consider if you have 5 years of car payments: 5-7K more, sticker price Filling the tank up 2 more times per month over a V6 if its your daily driver. $5-6K more over 5 years in gas alone. You think the price of gas is going down in the next 5 years? Insurance In the time that it takes you to pay the car off, the V8 can easily cost you 12-15K more. Is 100 hp worth it? Me, I'm still on the fence over that one... |

If you are looking for a car just for performance then get the 2SS.
If you don't care as much about performance as you do the way it looks get the 2LT. You will have a lower payment to make on your car, you will save money on oil changes and yes a few bucks on gas. But that money adds up and will allow you more money to mod your car. If you are wanting both performance and looks then again I would go with the 2SS. You will have the front end you are looking for and will already be starting out with a well performing car. Correct me if I am wrong but the V8 is more accepting to power adders and I don't think I have gone a day without seeing the V6 community begging for mods. My 2 cents. |

Dude...I traded in my 2SS that I love and now have a 1SS that makes me happier than any other car ive owned. I dont mind paying $80 to fill up, my insurance being $1,100, having to budet every month knowing a heavy tire purchase next year. Is it more.... Hell ya, but I really dont mind. I LOVE THIS CAR. The V-6 would have been a responsible decision, but I got the SS anyway. I am not wealthy, I'm a enlisted soldier. The comments I get everyday, people swarming my car wherever I pull up, the constant honks and waves, nobody wants to race me, the sound that motor makes when I fire it up in the AM. I could go on and on. Buddy, nobody is trying to trash the V6, its a great car. Its just that the SS is way more than just being a car. Its hard to explain. The MODS and years that go by will only make this thing worth more money. It is a part of my life that has begun to define me. I think you will understand, and you will get the SS.

Great example of someone experiencing buyers remorse. Now he is angry at anyone who owns the car he really wanted. Its doubtful that he will agree with this comment, and will possibly state that he is going to kick my ass too.
Hopefully he will let you know that since you indicated that money was not a factor for you (watch out now, being that you are wealthy enough to buy this car may set him off), you really should buy the SS, it IS a better car. Good luck on this decision, either way you will be a winner because you support GM. Quote:

If you can afford the SS get it. That's a no brainer.
Of course if you do you know your required to mod it to exactly 500 RWHP. LOL Last edited by coolman; 12-14-2010 at 11:58 PM. |
