It is well past time that we demand more from our elected representatives. Our tax system has almost eliminated manufacturing and our trade polices add insult to injury. Accountability is the key for all of us. Regardless of party affiliation, it is incumbent on us as a people to insist on fiscally responsible actions and radical changes in our trade polices. If those we elect do not act, they need to be replaced.

This isn't a complicated formula. Foreign auto companies building cars in the USA did not create a single job. They siphoned jobs from the big three. Not only did they siphon away jobs, the wages the foreign companies pay were a third of the wage paid in a UAW shop. Lest you think I am a union booster, I would like to point out that the ONLY foreign auto company operating in the USA to place a plant in the top ten in any category in the Harbour Report was the UAW staffed NUMMI plant. The end result of our open market and tax incentives to the new foreign companies was to import third world wages.

What we have seen in the automotive sector is just the tip of the iceberg. How many cars do we sell in Japan? Don't even waste your time thinking it has anything to do with the quality of our vehicles. In China, where all foreign companies are held hostage and must partner with a Chinese company, we are doing brilliantly with GM products. It isn't products. It is pathetic USA trade polices. Every time I speak with someone losing a job it sets me off. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO DEMAND YOUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES ACT IN OUR NATIONAL INTEREST AND RESTORE THE MANUFACTURING BASE IN THE USA.

End of rant. How is the weather?

Nobody in PWA can figure out what's wrong with this picture of the VXR8's interior. 5000 Internet points to the first person who figures it out.

The center stack appears to be canted for a LHD, but it could just be the photograph.

Isn't the VXR a vauxhall name not Holden? So the Holden badge on the wheel and VXR on the nav screen are mismatched?

O and.... Yes please bring this car home! Pretty please GM! I would cut off a toe for one of those! (Pinky toe, I like all the others). Could you Imagine that as a Chevelle SS? Corvette power, MR shocks, measuring all your G forces, I want.... I want BAD...

My laptop is about to short-circuit from the amount of drool covering it.

Your Buick coilovers are already in the warehouse. Now if we could just get Buick to deliver your car...

I won't argue with the referee, BUT I find it more interesting that the center stack is biased toward a left hand drive and what does that mean for the USA?

I don't think the center stack is biased as you guys think. I believe it's a trick of the lens (I know I have to use my 18 mm to get a shot like that) and simply a styled surface on the left side of the triple cluster pod that make it appear that the gages are biased to the left. If you focus on the triple gages and the screen you'll see they are on the same plane. Now follow that down to the HVAC controls and you should see they are all the same and my guess is they are centered to work with RH and LH drive.
