While I don't post much here I have in the past and I am over due with posting that I moved to South Carolina last month (no more front plate and I can drive my beast year round - yea !!!). I want to thank the Ohio folks who regularly post in this thread. Because of you I got to join in on some great Ohio C5 stuff in 2010 (Mid-Ohio, Car Wars in Strongsville, Summit Camaro show in Akron, GTO Drag day at National Trail, LS Dyno Day and the Hocking Hills cruise). All were an excellent time and the fellow C5 folks I met are good people. I'll be hangmng out in the Southeast forum now but best wishes for a great Hoilday season and an early end to winter so your Camaros can get back out on the road !

Best regards

So I have been asking around on here and I want to ask all of my fellow Ohio5 folks; what do you guys think about suspension upgrades? Who has ridden in or driven multiple suspension setups other than stock? My wife wants to buy me something for the Camaro for Christmas. She mentioned suspension which ends up putting me in the market and I have been looking at a few different things. LSR and Pfadt both get great reviews from the people that buy them, however I do not know what people think about them in comparison. I know people are satisfied with what they got so some more info besides that would be great! Thanks everyone!

alab32,
This past summer we had a mod gathering and about 20 of us showed up. I think more than half of us had drop springs and sway bars in our cars.

My car has quite a few mods and without a doubt the drop springs and sway bars are the BEST mod I've done to my car. It makes the car look better and drive better. There is quite bit of lean in the turns with the stock suspension. Drop springs and sway bars significantly reduce lean and you can take the curves at higher speeds. It is really fun.

I have Pfadt springs and sways. Some of the others have Eibach and BMR. I strongly recommend drop springs and sway bars!

Here is a pic of my car. You can see the gap around the wheel wells looks a lot better with the car dropped.

Thank you for the reply DE. I know I want at least sways and springs and probably links and bushings. Just brand shopping and personal opinion shopping now. Mark one for Pfadt! Have you ridden in cars that had other brands? If so how would you compare them? Thanks again.

Ooh ya... one more question. Is there a way to make the back of the car just slightly higher than the front?

I've only ridden in my car with Pfadt. The ride is not significantly stiffer than stock. I really don't notice any difference. I went with Pfadt because their Sport Suspension+ has gotten great reviews (springs, sways, end links - which is what I have).

I have also put in their trailing arms. I'm not sure if anyone makes springs that will make the back a little higher than the front. I personally love the look of my car and how it drives with the stance it now has.

We had a customers Camaro with taller tires on the rear, which made it higher in the rear. The ride was HORRIBLE in the turns! Straightaways were fine, but it was scary in the turns under power. It also had issues in the computer with the two different size tires. We put a matched of rear tires on the car, VIOLA! Problem was solved and handling returned to normal.

Make sure you post up pics before and after!

alab32, I'd like to help you out. If you would like to compare a couple brands, buy both, and I'll install one set on mine and the other on yours. You can then test out both to see which one you like best. If it is the set on my car, we'll just uninstall & reinstall. Then you can have the one you like best on your car, and I'll keep the lesser one on mine.

alab 32 - I have Pedders suspension components on my car and all I can say is !wow! So don't count them out of consideration when you're looking around. I chose Pedders due to their knowledge of the Camaro's platform from their work with Holden and I have not been disappointed in the least.

I have Eibach springs and BMR sways, trailing arms, toe bars and bushings. I LOVE it. To be honest, brand doesnt matter. it's personal preference. For me it was price. I got springs and sways for $360. Brand new. You wont touch that deal but you can find good deals out there.

If you were a racer, maybe the higher priced stuff would be worth it but I don't buy into it. I am 110% satisfied with my set up. I have never driven cars with anything else. Only other modded suspension car I drove was Drews and its the same set up ad mine.
