Got a FLAT.....GRRRRRR!

Ok so its dark and cold as my ex wife's emiotional range and low and behold, the ol warning light comes on and alerts me that my passenger rear tire is loosing air really fast. The problem is I have my 3 year old daughter in the car with me so this is not a great time for tire maintenence. Luckly, we were only 3 miles from home and I barely limp in my garage just as the tire hits 0 psi.

Well, I wait till the next day and call onstar and get "road-side assistance" to come and fix my tire. As we all know, since there is no spare and the compressor is crap so I dont feel like getting my hands frozen. Onstar informs me that they do not even make a spare for my wheel size and the car would have to be towed to have the tire repaired. So 30 mins after i call them a flatbed shows up and drags the wounded beast to my local dealer. Thankfully, it only needed a plug and not $400 for a new Pirelli.

Well, as i was checking out, they informed me that it would be $39.95 for the plug. I ask them since I have the super dooper 10 year bumper to bumper warranty if it would cover road hazards. So the shop guys begin arguing and internet digging as to whether it was a warranty issue or not. I tell them its not that big of a deal and the lead service guy throws me my keys and says "Merry Christmas."

So i would like give my thanks and appreciation to the guys at Berglund Chevrolet in Roanoke VA. That was a very cool thing to do.

Also, the moral....try not to get a flat in the Camaro.....it is a major PAIN!

Where would the spare go for storage or are you talking keeping it in the garage?

Hard to believe GM didn't do this for us. I hate not having a spare...it's just a matter of time.

If tire plugs won't hurt the Pirellis why not carry a plug kit and make use of the compressor?

1. I bought the tire and wheel plan from my dealer.
2. Before I re-start my snow-bound SS in the spring, it will have a full size spare and a jack in the trunk.
