Advice and Help, New ******** Package!

Merry Christmas Eve to all of you, I was hoping some of you were sitting around at home with family and may be by a computer to help me out...

I just purchased a package from Steve at ********, stealth box 12 and kicker amp. Did not know that the harness only works for Boston Acoustics sound system, which I do not have. My question is, can someone give me some advice or directions on where to go from here or how to just install these pieces? I have been doing most of the modifications to my camaro myself so far, but without this harness I am a little weary with my understanding of such a system, so if anyone has any advice or directions, it would be much appreciated!!!!

How do I do it without the harness?

Thanks everyone.

Happy Holidays.

hmm so did I so I know to just connect the amp to the head unti, but my confusion is my head unit has both rca outs for an amp and for a sub? Since my sub is just connected to my amp, all I have to do is run the amp RCAs to my head unit and the on/off power wire to my head unit?

thanks

I am not a audio expert by any means, however I did install a complete kit from ******** with 12' box and kicker 400 amp but I had the BA system with Steve's harness. This was easy as pie. Since you have replaced the head unit allready, what you say above sounds like the best way to go. Run your RCA leads from head unit to your sub amp and you should be set. I would use the amp outputs on the head unit, they should be low level signals. The sub outputs on the amp may not be and will probably use the head units frequency crosssover, where with the other outputs you can set crossover at your sub amp. Hope that helps till a stereo expert here chimes in.

Yep, pretty much. HU Sub RCAs to the amp input RCAs. Remote turn on wire (usually blue, or blue/white) to the remote on of the amp. Done. This will let you manage your sub to some degree from your HU instead of only from the amp.

If you decide to get a 4 channel amp to drive your mains, then it will connect the same way.... only use the front/rear RCAs on the HU.

I agree use the outputs from your head unit. Search for a thread on how to remove your rear seat, it is super simple, this will help with routing the cables down your center console, under the patch of carpet between the console and the rear seat. THen run them under the rear seat into the trunk. God luck you will love the sub and amp, I have a 12" with the kicker amp love it.

Without the BA system and Steve's harness, you just need a Line Out Converter (LOC) which will splice into all 4 wires of your rear speakers giving you a RCA pre-out for your amp. I'm not sure where to find an easy remote wire / turn on wire near the trunk. Some us are finding that we need the LOC even with the harness due to the voltage that the harness puts out.
