Ford admitting the Camaro will outsell the Mustang this year

Somewhat surprisingly, Ford doesn't seem too bothered. According to Ford sales analyst George Pipas, "If that was important, we wouldn't have taken a shift off at Flat Rock," which is where the plant that assembles the Mustang is located. That's a somewhat dubious statement, since building too many vehicles in one model year only leads to problems for the next... In any case, this is a trend worth monitoring.

Im not trying to defend GM and bash Ford, but the only reason Ford survived is because they mortgaged every single asset that they own to raise money to survive. Analysts agree that even though GM went through bankruptcy it is much healthier financially than Ford.

I think it's great news for GM ,securing their finacial position. But I bet everyone on here likes the relative exclusivity of their Camaro at the moment; it's why I'm getting one. There is a risk that in five years time, you'll walk down the street and think.."oh there's yet another 5th gen"..the way you do S197 Mustangs now.
