Lexus IS350 all the way, they do 0-60 in the high 4s, maybe low 5s(if your 80 years old) and the 1/4 mile in mid 13s. I think Lexus underrated it's power.

PDF file, just open it.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/content/...2007-Acura-TL-

0-60 in 4.9
1/4 mile in 13.5 @ 103.1 mph

Faster than the 340-hp Audi S4 with 4.2 liter V8, as fast as if not faster than a twin-turbo BMW 335i, E46 BMW M3, 350Z, E39 BMW M5 V8, Mustang GT(pre-2010), Dodge Challenger R/T V8 and so on....
IS350 is a real sleeper.

Don't get one !! Those are the most boring sterile cars you can buy, it's a car for people who don't give a flying rats ass about cars. No power whatsoever, the brakes and steering are very dull, doughy, and uninformative as well as the harsh suspension which rolls in corners, trust me, I test drove one. The gas mileage isn't even that good, I can name 5 random much much more powerful cars with better gas mileage just off the top of my head.... if you are interested in any IS model go for the IS350, at least that has one redeeming quality that stands out in it's class, acceleration. Or at least look at a last gen. IS300, theyre much faster and better than the IS250.

Guys, looking at the RnT chart 08G35s/MT6 posted, how can the Lexus be sooo much quicker:
CuIn
Camaro 217 Lexus 210
LBS
Camaro 3750 Lexus 3615
Hp
Camaro 312 Lexus 306
torq
Camaro 273 Lexus 277
0-60
Camaro 6.0 Lexus4.9

I get maybe 0.3 sec faster due to lbs.
Is it the gearing?

Is it the gearing?

Gearing is one of the issues, the IS350 has a lower first gear then even the 8-speed IS-F, it is also reasonably easy to hook up really well, plus I personally think it's underrated because it has a slower shifting 6-speed auto yet somehow still manages these amazing times. At higher speeds(120 mph+) as you can see on the chart my G35 passes the IS350(The IS slows down fairly dramatically at 115), so I am guessing at that point it would be much much closer between the Camaro at that point, lower gearing can't help the IS350 at higher speeds.

Why would you even attempt to compare a $38k car to the v6 Camaro? I can get the SS cheaper than than it the IS350. Who starts these things?
