1) you can get that exact bolt/nut combo thingy from autozone for like $6.
2) Wierdo gas miser prius drivin' hippies put those on thier O2 sensors to decrease the amount of O2 the sensors see. This in turn dangerously leans out the engine in order get better gas mileage.

They can also be used on the #2 sensors for a cat delete without tuning.

Does anyone know if these work or if there are any negative effects to the motor?

It's post cat. It won't hurt anything.

That's correct, no affect on a/f mixture, just compares #1 with what it should see at #2 and will throw a CEL code if out of tollerance. At least this is my understanding, no expert here!

This is correct. The #2, downstream, post cat, O2 sensors are only there to report on the health of the cats. Their readings make no adjustments to the AFR.

Dang that ssmike is a quick draw.lol

I installed long tubes on my car and installed a set of these since I removed the cats. They didn't do anything. Within two days I threw 2 CELs and they haven't gone out yet.

Plain old extensions work great in the SOLO highflow catted mid pipes.
