How to Restore and Maintain Your Camaro's Finish - The Videos!

I got the adams resto kit for christmas. I've started doing a panel at a time, I found it surprisingly simple to get the exact results Junkman get's in his video's. The hardest part for me is using a SMALL enough amount of product, It truly doesn't take much, the Adams products including the PC are fantastic and perform as advertised.

One thing that I would suggest you do is do all the work yourself. Why spend money over and over again to have someone fix your paint when you can put that money toward your own equipment? In the long run, it quickly works to your advantage. Also, you need to watch my videos on touchless washing. It is not necessarily the way to go when doing it the way you're thinking. The way you have explained it in your post will do nothing but cause even more damage.

Wish I had the option to do this myself, problem is in a 30 storey condo underground parking there is no place to do car washes. So, have to do what I have to do to keep the vehicle fairly clean at reasonable cost.

You can easily go to a coin-operated do it yourself car wash. I do this. I put my buckets, wash pads, wheel brushes and detailing bag in the trunk. When you get there just use their water and wash as you would at home. Very easy and cheaper than the touchless ones you're using.

I've been to those as well, can you actually get those two buckets in the trunk?

Would you then drive home and use the PC for the polish / wax steps?

I guess; Would have to use some type of method to pre-wipe the car (after driving home) before doing that step.

Yes I can get the buckets in the trunk. You have to slide them in the middle between the two speakers that are mounted in the trunk

You could then drive home, hopefully it's not too far. If you had to do that then you could use the cal duster, then wipe down with waterless wash before moving on to polish and wax.

Although, check out around the car wash. There may be some outlets where you could plug in. I'm sure the owners wouldn't mind much (especially if you gave them a call and asked) if you came and polished at night when nobody is there. Usually those things have lights on 24/7.

It's a lot harder for those of us without our own water/electrical hookups to keep our cars finish in tip-top shape. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm not going to have perfect paint given the circumstances. Just do the best you can, and it'll still be better than 90% of people who actually have all the resources available to them, just by the fact that you care enough to read this thread.

Right on bro'. I kind of like cleaning my vehicle. I didn't realize it until I bought the SS, but it sort of therapeutic.
So, far I've been doing a fairly decent job keeping the vehicle clean and shiny, a detailer once looked at it and asked where I had it done, and was shocked when I told him I did it myself.
After reading this thread, doing research on products adn viewing the junkman videos I realized I've been using decent products, but could do better, and the techniques he shares are fabulous.
I like your idea of doing it at night, makes a lot of sense cause' the washing bays are lighted up quite nicely if there's electrical outlets would just need a good heavy duty extension cord and away we go.

That' what I did years ago when I lived in an apartment. My thing was paint damage. I didn't mind that the car got dirty as long at there were no scratches on it. Dirt washes off. Scratches require more work so I religiously do everything I can to avoid scratches.

I just ordered Adam's NEW Essentials Detail Kit for my White LT2/RS that should be here in about two weeks. I really appreciate the coupon code Junkman and the vid's. My son and I plan to tell the dealership to not touch the car prior to our inspection and do not wash or "wax" it. The car will come home and be placed in the garage until the weekend when we will start to work on it. In fact I do not plan to sell my existing vehicle and will use it until we have enough time to detail the Camaro and get a clear bra installed. That brings me to my only questions so far....

Do you recommend any special process for the area of the car where the clear bra will be installed?

If the place where the clear bra is going to be installed is reputable, they should do everything necessary to prep that area. Let them.

Information overload.....I had bought a bucket of Adams stuff at a car show and now need to watch the videos and see what I need and if I have the correct stuff or if I bought some stuff I do not need.
