Should go nicely with my other $2200 discount.
What is your other $2200 discount?

So let me see if I have this straight. If my dealer has already put my order into the workbench with an order number, will he have to put it in again on this date? And when he does this, the system will tell him on the spot (or shortly afterwards) if the car will be made in March or shortly after? I am #3 of 19, all V8's (2) in front of me.

Just want to make sure befor I contact my dealer.

My dealer showed me the website with my Camaro order shown. He said there are 6 stages to every order. The first is Pre-Order. That is where everyones order is at right now. The next stage is ordered. He said that once the pre-order changes to ordered, he would have a few days to make changes to the order before it becomes official. I have not heard him tell me anything about expected delivery date once the car is ordered. I would expect that they will keep me informed about the status of my order as it moves through the other 4 order status stages.

Just came form my dealer this morning. Since I placed my order on November 1, both the sales manager and my sales lady have left the dealership. I understand the sales lady left because of a much better opportunity and career change. So, I stopped in to find out who my new sales person is, and to see what kind of person they are. I am happy, as they were very professional, and honest, not making any promises "I" knew they could not keep (thanks Caramo5.com). He stated that the order their five allotted cars will be built in, assuming nothing about the build would prevent a particular car from being built, is the same order they were entered on to GM. As I am number 3 of the 5, mine will be the third built, besides the V6 GM will push out. He also stated that the allocation of 5 units was it for the year, unless GM decides they can have more.

Bottom line, I am glad I stopped in, and I came out with the color brochure too.

Long Live Camaro!

If you have a 6-digit confirmation order number, you're good to go. On Friday, the dealers will know what they can order for March (and only March) delivery.

So if I call my dealer Friday, he will be able to tell me if my order was accepted for a March build? Even though I know it won't happen, it would be cool to know this

Will this system automaticly spit out this info, or will he have to go digging for it? Then I quess in Febuary, they will do the same thing and so on down the road?

Sorry for all the questions, but this is all new to me. And many others I would asume.

They are peliminary right now which is event code 1100 once they are accepted and become placed for production it should give an extimated TPW (Target Production Week). After it is produced and has a VIN# it will give an estimated in transit or arrival date.

So this Friday, when they pick the ones to be built (for March), they will be given a TPW? Will the dealer have this info on Friday, or will it take some time to get to there system?

On a side question, who actually picks the cars for production each month. Is it a computer, or an actuall person that looks at what is wanted by the customers and what can actually be done by the factory at that time?

It all starts with the factory. In the simplist terms (there is more involved), "We" (the factory) are prepared to build xx V6s and xx V8s in March. Based on allocation, the dealers are told "you" (the dealer) can have xx V6 and xx V8 this upcoming month. The dealer AND ONLY THE DEALER decides how to match their pre-orders up to what the factory says they can have.

So if they are alloted 1 V6 and 2V8's for March, but the only V6 they have on their preorder list is 20th in line, they could actually put it in, and that person could get theirs first just because they were the first V6 on the list?
Wow, never though that getting a V6 Camaro could pay off like that? If that's the case. I'm pretty sure that all of their orders so far are V8's

Yes, their car would come in first.

What if GM only allows V6's for their first month allotment, but they have no V6's on their list (with the exception of the showroom one), can they send in V8's, or would they have to wait?
