Now I'm asking the question, "Are you serious?". You need to get your deposit back and get as far away from this dealer as you possibly can. If they give you any crap, tell them you're getting the State Attorney General's Office involved for fraud. Just the mention of that agency I guarantee you will put them on their heels. Mind you, once you do that, if you get to MSRP and stay (against my recommendation for sure) they probably will screw with you somehow.

Bottom line: my .02, get outa dodge. Threaten them with the above for your deposit back and WALK OUT. It may be a long ride home from Buffalo if you were to fly in and pick up your car, but I have a thread here with a dealer at $500 over invoice while yours is talking $10k OVER STICKER. See a problem there?

I'm definitely serious, but I've only had contact with the dealer once, so maybe now that they are more informed, we can negotiate. Plus now I have more knowledge on the Camaro. Honestly I really want a Camaro, but traveling far is out of the question. I'll probably end up getting another car, which I really don't want to do

All I was getting at is there are other options out there. I can't possibly have found the ONLY dealer in the country who is willing to deal well below MSRP. Don't feel cornered by your dealer- there's almost 4000 more of them out there to choose from. Good luck and keep us informed.

Oh and I have a question. Do the dealers know the final prices now? And if he agrees to lower, do I tell him to make a contract or something. Sorry, I've never bought a car.

As people have said sooooo many times.. if you are still messing with the a-hole dealer that wanted $10k over price.. then you my friend are not reading all the advice people are giving you. So why continue giving you advice?

You'll need them to give you a signed copy of the invoice saying that's the final price you'll pay.

Well, I my thought is that people didn't know that I've only had contact with the dealer once, and that is when I ordered. They didn't know much about the Camaro either, and I feel that now they kinda have an idea of sales price. You are kinda right, but.....I really don't want to give up on this dealer, because without them, I'll go to a Ford dealer soon.

Travelling may seem impossible, but $10,000 over MSRP can not be an option. Are you 'buying' at Amarillo? Only 2 more hours down to Lubbock, several dealer in that area, towns around Lubbock... Dont give up on the Camaro, but dont GIVE them $10k...

I believe they do although I'm not sure it actually shows up on the computer paperwork yet. As a bare minimum you need them to put in writing that they'll sell you the car at MSRP. At least that definitely locks you into a number (which will be the sticker on the window when the car arrives). If you can get them to deal, use MSRP as a reference. You know, get them to put in writing "$1000 UNDER MSRP". There is a variety of dealer "work order" paperwork they can fill out to accomplish it. Just make sure it's some kind of authentic dealership paperwork and have you (most likely your dad since you're underage) sign it AND the sales manager or general manager sign it. NOT THE SALESMAN. Make sure your deposit is listed on the same paperwork and that it goes towards the purchase price. I'd hate to see you get screwed by them saying it goes towards some sort of markup fee. Most dealers I wouldn't even question it but your dealer gives me a VERY BAD feeling. My opinion only...

Thanks for the info. Gonna come in real handy. I go to Amarillo, I live in Perryton, I MIGHT go to Lubbock if this doesn't work out. I'm not to fond of skipping school (part of the reason I'm getting the car) which I'm doing Monday, but, I mean, its a car! Even if its only your opinion, I still greatly appreciate it, because without it, I may have spent $10,000-$15,000 above MSRP

Dear lord, cancel your order NOW. Tell him you won't go a penny over MSRP, and that you will simply go elsewhere.
