Again, I suspect just a few minutes would be, but my initial fuse pull was for 3 hours just because I was busy doing yard work. |

I have always run 93 in mine and still have to pull the fuse about once a month. I have done the change gas stations for a couple of months and it still resets. My guess is it's an over active knock sensor. The dealer doesn't much care to do anything about it. I do think I have figured out the main cuplret in whats setting it off.
I was good for almost a month when I did not use the paddle shifters. I get some good popping on decel using them in some cases and I am thinking that is what is setting it off. |

Did the fuse pull this weekend in my LS3. Great results, better gas mileage, engine seems to purr now rather than kind of run rough, acceleration seems smoother and more responsive throttle. mpg's went from a consistent 13-14 to 15-16 running the same route as I always run during the weekends (yes, I'm predictable).
Guys and girls, I don't think the question should be whether you know 87 has been put in, the fact of the matter is nobody knows for sure what was initially put in your car before you drove it off the lot, even for those who say "I took the dealers credit card and drove it to the station myself." What kind of gas was in the engine that got you to the station with the dealers card? Did you push it to the gas station with 0 miles on it? What I'm trying to get at is that fuse pulling to reset is nothing new (do it on all my vehicles after any intake work), it won't damage anything and it's easy. All owners should do this at least once regardless of saying they have the knowledge of gas used, fact is they don't have knowledge of the very first squirt of gas. So, everyone should do this once, at least. |

Gents, I am new to the forum.
When I do the fuse pull, should I expect it to reset the radio (i.e. lose all the station presets, reset the clock, etc)? I did it last night, left the fuses out for a little over an hour, put them back in. The radio was NOT reset, and I haven't really had an opportunity to road test the change. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. |

Here I was guiltily thinking that this didn't feel like a 426hp car, even though it was my first time driving a car with that much HP. I was even feeling like my old LS1 Z28 might have had more grunt below 3k, and that was stock!
This is all making sense now. I'm tempted to pull the fuse as I've just filled up with actual 91 octane for the first time. But that was before I read this sticky, and there was still 1/4 tank of unknown "dealer gas" in the tank when I topped it up with 91. Assuming what was in there before was 87 octane, should I go ahead and try the fuse pull now, or wait till I completely drain the tank and the next fill up? |

I would wait and do it after one tank ran of 91.

No sweat. You're more than welcome. I did the fuse pull last night and drove it this morning. I seem to tell a difference but as the wife said it is all in my head!!! But I think it made a real difference to me!! Any suggestions on what mods are best to do first?? I am looking at exhaust and Cold air first. Should I go cat back or axle back??? |
