Camaro being a target for Police

In my other thread, someone mentioned that the Camaro is a target for Police.

I'm curious to know about any experiences you all have had with the law while driving your Camaro.

Thanks!

Illegal activity is a target for the police, not the car.

Speeding is on the top of their list....

I've had my license for almost 13 years now. I've owned a total of 6 Camaros, and I've only had one ticket, which I got when I first started driving, and it wasn't awarded in a Camaro. Point is, everything can speed, it's the driver that's the variable.

I won't say I'm a saint on the road, either. I've deserved a lot of tickets. But I've gotten very good at exercising control and consciously having my fun moments where it's optimal for safety (not that it's advisable, legal, or recommended to have 'fun moments' on public roads).

True. Agree, even though the car drives the attention all you need to do is stick to the speed limits and as 1BADLS3 said: having my fun moments where it's optimal for safety.

I guess its just one of those things people always say that camaros, mustangs, vettes ect are Targets for police. But if your not doing anything wrong then you dont have anything to worry about.

I definitely make sure that I am going the speed limit. My Synergy Green Camaro stands out among the rest of the cars.

I was driving down the highway in quite a lot of fast moving traffic, and 2 cops were on the side of the road talking, not really paying attention at that time. But when I went past, I could see them in my mirror, and one of the cops jerked his head around when he saw me and pointed his radar gun right at me. He looked at my speed, and then turned back to the other cop and started talking again.

So, like others said, if you're not doing anything wrong, then you won't get into trouble, but the police do hone in on you rather than other cars.

There is a cop in Fremont Ca that targets muscle car/ Sports cars; gave me two fix its for no front plate, and black tint on part of my tail lights. Officer John Rosetti of Fremont PD has nothing better to do; usually hangs out near car washes, and high schools. Most of the car club members know of him in the Bay Area. Other than this clown I have only had thumbs up from at least one CHP officer, and other cop that have been behind me have never bothered me in the 19 months I've had this car, and it's my everyday driver.

the car definitely gets a little bit more attention, than say a cavalier, but like everyone says, they cant give you a ticket if you dont do anything wrong

I had this one cop who always harassed me in my 71 Camaro back when it was all stock, this guy was a real jerk, I never had any tickets or any violations and he would pull me over all the time, I ended up going to the police station to complain about this cop and come to find out there was a lot of other people he did the same thing to, he was traffic cop that did not like certain cars and after I went to the police station, he never bothered me anymore.

Quite frankly, I don't think anyone bought these cars to go slow. So if we have a slightly higher percentage chance of getting pulled over, it won't surprise me at all...

When I went up to my parents place, up in the hills of the ozarks, I got alot of funny looks and while driving about 52 in a 55 a cop turned around on me and came flying up on me.. then suddenly hit the brakes and turned back around.. I know he didn't run my tags because it was the day I got the car and the tags were for a 2005 Red Dodge SRT-4.. not a 2010 White Camaro SS. But in big letters on my tags it does say "National Guard" so.. maybe that had something to do with it lol

Though the town where my parents live is not the place you would expect to see a Camaro SS running down the main highway.. even though the main highway would be the only place you would see one (any other street in the town the camaro probably wouldn't make it down....)
