I felt like my camaro and/or me was a target for the police when I first got my car in early Feb. 2010. I wasn't quite sure if it was the camaro (Transformer SS) or me with a Transformer SS. Followed all the time.

I did my "Darin" hard break-in on the on ramps of the expressway and before I could do more than 3 or 4 hard runs, I had police (more than one or two behind me.) Of course I reached speed limit very quickly, went to neutral and coast off the off ramp.

Now that I'm well broken-in and there are many more camaros on the road, they are not behind me anymore.

Oh yeah, I still get to the speed limit very quickly but, I never go over it.

I got pulled over in my Camaro, and it was because of my car .
Here in Toronto we have some what new street racing laws .
Thanks to teenage kids racing there mom and dad's cars wreckless on are roads .
So the police in the Toronto can take your car and inpound it under "street racing " .
Now my problem with this is all the cost out to the owner before being proven guilty .

I was at a red light with my girl in the car , and my bubby behind me in his 66 Charger behind me .
And a guy about my age between 25-28 years old in a little hatch back mid 90's
Honda Civic pulled up in the left lane beside me .
The light went green the kid floored his car and squaked his tires and took off .
I drove down the road maybe another 4-5 minutes and two cop car flew up on me and my buddy .
One cop car pulled behind the Charger , and one in front of my Camaro .
They flashed there lights and we all pulled over .
One cop came to me from the front car , and one from the back to my friends car .
The cop I delt with lost it on me from the start .

I asked if there was a problem ?
He said you guys think your funny?
I said excuse me ????
He said "you knew we were doing radar down the road so you racing around and slowed down right in front of us "
I said no sir , I never even launched the car .
He said if I do not wanna cooperate he can impound my car at a cost to me .
I was like on what grounds ???
He said we heard you at the intersection , and that they were parked in the plaza .
My girl said sir if you heard us , did you see us ??
He said "No we did not , nor did we have to there was only one other car that came down the road "
(The green little civic)
We explianed what happend he did not care .
Luckly the Officer my buddy was talking to was reasonable , and understood .
He figured out why would we do that and both being in the right lane not side by side .
Only to coast down the road just over the limit by like 5kms .
Luckly we were let go , but the cop I got never belive the guy in the Civic did it .
It had to be guys the Camaro and the Charger .

No all Cops are bad , My Grandpa was a really good one but in Toronto Ont. Canada they have way to much power .

I've been pulled over once in my car (knock on wood) granted I WAS speeding but if I were in my old pontiac I doubt the cop would have even noticed me, so while I dont think i'm a target, i think its more because 1. I drive a BEATUIFUL RED car and 2. I was breaking the law.

I was 2nd behind a van at a stop light in Lynn Haven. The lady (on the cell phone) took off so fast her kids (not in seat belts) flew in the back of the van. The cop was to busy pointing a radar gun at me to notice her as she flew by him doing WWWAAAYYY over 35.
I just drove by at 30mph shaking my head.

I would say not moving violations but others.

I got so far 4 tickets for no city sticker while parked in the train station parking garage.

Now mind you I park in remote area's of the garage (usualy the top floor less packed spot). I am always next to the same 4 cars in my area. One day come home early ticket on my window for no city sticker. Check the other cars no tickets. Ok shrugged it off pay my fine get my sticker (I dont put it on). 2 weeks later same thing ticket for no sticker. I check the other cars next to me no city sticker and no ticket. I even asked the person one day who parks right next to me everyday. If they lived in oaklawn and she said yes. I also asked if she has gotten a ticket for no city sticker since parking here. She said no.

So I will keep using up my cities time in court until I place my sticker on. They keep telling me that I am wasting their time and money by not putting it on. The last court date I told them "ok then ticket the other cars and not only mine lol". He laughed at me and stated everybody gets ticketed for no sticker. My last words walking out were "I will see you in 2-3 weeks then". Car was put away for the winter since than. We will see what happens in the spring.

Where I live I know all the cops from having worked as a nightshift security guard in the past.. The cops are pretty cool with me. The cops tend to leave me alone around my home town. The car draws alot of attention but the cops are fair here.

I got pulled over once in the 6years I've had my licence and it was for white smoking the tires of my SRT4 coming out of a parking lot... I explained to the cop that there was a car coming that i couldnt' see b/c my line of sight was blocked and as I pulled out I saw it coming I explained that I romped it so the other car wouldn't have to slam on his brakes.... the cop just asked to take a look under the hood, asked about the turbo mods, and then gave me a verbal warning and let me go.

Seems like it really depends on the cops. I got follow on the freeway going 63 in a 65 for a couple miles...then the CHP officer starts tailgating me, so i speed up, and the lights go on when i hit 67!! i was pretty pissed off because he was tailgating me to pull me over. Ends up asking for my license and registration, insurance.....luckily i didnt have tinted windows because he did a full walk around of my car.....no ticket though......some cops don't deserve their jobs!

I think some cops just get jealous and try to be AHs about it. I'd hate to have one of those guys pull me over and realize the SS is being driven by a 22yo. (i've already been accused of driving mommy n daddy's car. then i show them the bill of sale that says that mommy n daddy didn't even co-sign..)

Other than 1 troublesome officer with nothing better to do at 6am I haven't ever had any issues.

Was driving 2 miles over the speedlimit according to his radar in my 442. I'm assuming the car caught his attention because it's louder than a "normal" car. When we went to court I won because I was going 27 in a 35 but he had his radar set to 25.

Who said that the camaro is a target? I agree with all who have mentioned only if ur speeding. I only got a speeding ticket in the 89 i used to have for speeding. Now with this one, i simply lower my windows when i see one. Knock on wood.
