BUT...

that only applies for when you are driving along the highway and streets...you can have whatever color light you want on your car if your parked...

oh and they cant strobe i believe no matter what.

also

If you guys saw the sema show where he talks about the design of the car...he is talkin about camaro black...with the red led halos...and he says that this might be an option in the future or sell the camaro black as a package.

Now me personally...would love to see camaro black offered as a package...but they would seriously have to go down in price for the wheels and ground effects

I mean cmon...thats a V6 camaro with like atleast 7000 dollars in cosmetics...why not just go base V8?

GM is not going to sell a car with illegal lights. Period. You'll have to do it yourself.

Well if it is easy to turn the halo lights on and off separate from all other lights, I think it could be worth it to install colored halos for use off road while not driving. Certain combinations would look very cool, and that's coming from a guy who finds most appearance mods ridiculous.

Thats odd, it seems like everyone is worried about it being illegal to put red halos on the car but so are exhibition of accelaration, speeding, and not using a blinker to change lanes. I mean really, who hasnt broken a law? If you wanna do it then do it. Anything is possable and red halos wont be that hard to install. If a cop wants to pull you over, they will find a reason no matter what.

Agreed....if you want to do it, do it! I know I will be and I'll be driving with them on whenever I feel like it. If I get a ticket, so what, pay it and go on with life. At least I'll be enjoying MY camaro the way I want to.

I sick and tired of the GOV telling me what they think is "best" for me. They keep pissing away my tax dollars so as far as I'm concerned, they can take stupid little piss-ant laws like this and go to hell.

Oh and the first person who "throws a stone" including all of you fine law enforcement types, better damn not ever exceed the posted speed limit...

PS: Oh and I'll also be running radar and jammers on the front and rear....so have fun catching me!

Uhmmmm ok....
first of all the red lights aren't just a ticket. It's called impersonating a police officer, and is guaranteed jail time, with a felony charge to top it off. and a radar jammer is just fixing yourself up for some really long jail time. It's not a "piss-ant" law it's for the protection of others.

I really hope your post was sarcastic because that is just stupid.

Yeah but see, it is really distracting having weird lights on a car. In the winter I'm always stuck in traffic with a ton of cars, and the ones who screwed with their lights (like low-beams that are just as bright as normal high beams) just make the whole drive absolute hell. It is distracting and dangerous. And imagine seeing a red headlight coming at you. You might be confused if they were coming or going. Not safe, just like I don't think traveling triple digits on public roads is safe. Leave that kind of fun and show for off-public roads.

Big difference between going 5 over the limit and a whole laundry list of violations which could end up getting your Camaro impounded or you thrown in jail

Ok...I've vented....long days recently and "took it out" on you all....sorry about that!

But I am going to correct you....radar jammers ARE illegal due to FCC laws, nothing else, and yes it's big fines,($50k, 5yrs), etc. There is only one company making them (that is worth the expense). I would not own this.

LASER JAMMERS on the other had are NOT against Federal law and only illegal in the states of NE, MN, UT, CA, OK, VA, CO, IL, and DC. I will be installing these on my Camaro just as I have on my Avalanche. They are legal and citizen's defense against those who hide behind their open hoods, roadside obstacles, and utilize other sneaky and deceptive techniques. If they can sneak around, so can I.

But I am sick of the GOV and this just pushed me over the edge. For me, this will be mainly a hanger queen so I will be proceeding with many mods that will be used appropriately.

It's funny, but with ALL THE LAWS of every kind on the books, I really do believe from the time a person wakes up in the morning until they leave their house for work, they can't help but break AT LEAST one law of some sort...whatever it may be.
