The Camaro is nowhere near as bad as comparisons would have you believe. I wouldn't trade my car for anything. The visibility isn't that bad. Maybe if you're short it's more of a problem but for me the only real issue at first was backing up. Which after a little while you get used to. (plus the newer cars have the sensors too
)

I test drove several of each when I was shopping last summer. You really can't go wrong with either car overall, though each car has its own strong points, and they are definitely two completely different cars, so you'll want to take a few test drives in each to see which one fits you best.
The Camaro does have limited visibility, which makes it feel big. In 4 test drives, I could never really get used to it. The Mustang feels smaller and more nimble partly for that reason. As for the interior, I'm neutral on the Camaro's interior. Also, are you looking at a 1SS vs base Mustang, or 2SS vs premium Mustang? To me, the premium Mustang has a nicer interior, but the Premium trim level includes a more significant interior upgrade than a 2SS vs. 1SS (plus I checked the box for a further interior upgrade option beyond that). Since you are looking to pay in the $28k range, I'd assume you're looking at the base trims, and in base trim the Mustang interior is actually far cheaper looking than the Camaro's.

Plus to add to all that Camaro people are so much nicer to hang out with than Mustang people. That's why there are so many Mustang people on this site! They'd rather hang with us.

I love my 5th gen and do not have any issues with visibility really in the car. once you own it you become one with it and you in a way feel where the car is.... if that makes any sense. the only time visibility might be an issue is changing lanes but the car is powerful enough to pass someone and know where they are when you make the lane change. the car is simply awesome. my guess is the mustang suffers from similar visibility issues too. i've owned a couple mustangs in the past too. i compared the two when i bought the camaro. no regrets here

If you got to ask you probably should get the Mustang....as you would probably like hanging with those boys better anyway. The Camaro is for the serious enthusiast. The leaders of the pack so to speak...The kind of guy if it were the 1880 you would carry a gun and travel the west. In fact, asking almost suggests a Mustang is too much for you as well..Have you considered a Prius?

like mentioned before, the cars are great on their own levels...i work for a dealership that has a chevy and ford, and have test driven both...i love them both for many reasons...the thing i like about the Mustang more is when you swap the cams, it actually songs like an old skool muscle car..."Revo1" i'm not bashin' your car, it could be that camera, but it just doesn't sound the same to me as the mustang does. But OP test drive them both multiple times and go with what fits you best...
Good Luck |

I'm a Muscle Car enthusiast, I might only be 20 years old but i've been obsessed with American Muscle since I was in middle school. I wish they would bring back the Chevelle, my favorite all time muscle car is the 1969 Camaro SS. My dad had one back in '86 with a 454. The only reason I ask is because I want input from other Camaro owners. After doing a lot of research last night I decided on getting a Camaro. The Mustang is nice, I just have a thing for the interior and overall feel of the Camaro. I understand where your coming from though, Me asking Mustang vs. Camaro is like asking American Muscle vs. Import. Anyway, Ill keep yall updated on when I order mine.
