We all know that pricing is highly unlikely to change (at least for preorders) and that the exterior certainly won't be. But they just add that stuff because of CYA.

I'm not saying that the current situation is illegal or something in any way. I'm simply saying that GM should make this clear and be frank with us. Why all the dancing around the issue, I simply cannot understand. People have decisions to make, and soon. GM will be locking in orders very soon. There is no reason that they cannot come out and tell us basically what's going on. They've been rather open throughout this whole process so why the coyness now?

And how is this a dead horse? If anything, we're just beating a strong willed horse that refuses to die. Once the answers are known, then may it RIP.

And if history is any indicator, we won't get answers until there is a full-on meltdown.

Hey, if I were in a position like a lot of you and ordered my car, I know I'd feel the same (to an extent, I can relate to your feelings exactly, just on another topic ) as you guys. I just hate to see an immanent meltdown when it could've been prevented. Anyone who's spent more than a few consistant months on this site has seen the hysteria that can come about. Please, have emotions and express them. I love this car because it draws out emotion and passion, but, please, I humbly ask as a fellow enthusiast - just try to keep our heads There's nothing we can do, either way, and answers are coming. I really doubt GM wants to make us feel like we didn't get our moneys worth, because from the cars they've been testing it against, that notion completely goes against what it seems they're trying to do with this car.

Respectfully...

Ya' know - I should've said (because even though I think it, doesn't mean I type it, LOL) I don't EVER try, deliberately, to deminish anyone's feelings. You know, I'd feel the same. Call it my Virgo side (I don't like confrontation, LOL) but I could so easily see someone from Team Camaro jumping on here and feeling like they get beat-up everytime they visit a community like ours. I've seen that on other sites and I think we all do a great job of not coming off like that. Call me sensitive, but I just hate seeing threads about cancelling orders on this car because of details like these. It wasn't long ago so many were pizzed about the fuel filler door (I can't blame you ). I am sorry to all who I made feel different than I intended. Just like you guys, I'm looking forward to my interior lighting up just like that d@mn little video we fell in love with. It'd be a big let down to not have it.

Sincerely...

from what I have herd there will be no ABL right of the start. So don't get your hopes up guys because it may not happen, and if if does good job gm. however I do not have high expectations that the electrical side of the camaro will be up to par. GM makes good engines, but the electrical stuff I had more issue with several Gm autos. nonetheless is a good looking car and if it runs properly that's OK with me, ABL is just icing on the cake.

I think that video tainted a lot of us. If it was just a simple startup video it would've been fine...but that video went out of it's way to SHOW OFF the ambient lighting. That was the whole purpose of the video... Yes, HUD was shown too, but they addressed the HUD delay WELL before production. People that have preordered KNEW that down the line HUD would be coming, and they had the opportunity to hold out until next year, or preorder and do without.

We are still unsure if we're getting the ABL. (I have faith too...and I'm hanging out waiting to see if we're definitely getting it).

Here's a question. Since HUD is technology that's already out there. Would the people that preordered be satisfied if they gave us HUD at launch and delayed the ABL? And, of course, didn't lower the price of the vehicle.

I think most of us would be satsifed if GM just came forward and said exactly what was happening regarding the ABL. Regardless a YES or NO, a simple answer or update on the status would sefice for a lot of people. Just leaving everybody in the dark to speculate is just not doing any good...

I remember Cadillac, back in the 80s, really made things complicated. After driving a '96 K1500 for six years, a '94 Z28 for a year-and-a-half, a '95 Z28 for six years, an '02 K1500 for seven years, and an '02 Z28 for six years, I've had no real trouble with anything electrical that I didn't cause, LOL! Everything I can think of related to electrical gremblins were a result of a fautly PCM programmer and headers burning through a wire harness. With everything going electronic, I'm sure they've got a lot of experience and expertise on their side

Like most of these posts, these are excellent points. Why tease like that with no follow through. I'm sure GM is going to make sure it's a good product.

Are you talking about the Dubai video, or the Ignition video? The Dubai video is what did it for me, after that, i just went nuts with how GM went above and beyond. I really hope they get it fixed, its a beautfiul and very clever design andd brings a whole new leverl to the Camaros interior.
I was very pissed when i found out about the doors only, but now im more relaxed just waitng to see what happens because no matter how much i will b****, nothing will change. We all just have to wait it out and hope that we get our promised ABL working the way it was promised.
I do have to agree, this should be confirmed prior to the orders being locked because there are people who would cancel for that, and it is a legit reason if they choose to. I will not cancel my order, but i would like to know if i can get it later, with no added charge. And it would definitly piss me off if they have done complete for the next model run and not give 10s ABL.
Right now im confident, not 100%, but enough to give me enough faith in GM to produce the right ABL.
P.S a BIG NO NO for doors only
A big YES YES! for a finished product of the Dubai video

ABL isn't even the right acronym.

To the best of my knowledge, GM has never officialy said they would have it, have they? If so can someone direct me to it? I know it's in some of the cars but I kinda liked the center console going all the way over the back seat but that's not the way it is. Can't complain cause they never officialy said it would in the production car. MSRP doesn't say anything about it. This is what happens when they give so much info so far in advance. I wonder if they regret it at all? I looked for it in the ordering guide and workbook but only found "Factory Illumination Package" but no explanation. Where is the GM official explanation?
Just wondering.

It was mentioned in earlier marketing stuff as well as by Scott at indy and most recently at the NAIAS (3:30) (albeit with no mention of the dashboard this time).
