Because that is exactly what it is. I had the same stuff in an older car I had and after a few months it starts coming off at the sharper edges of some pieces. Hydro carbon or real carbonfiber replacements are much better but also cost alot more. It looks good at first though.

I have had mine on since march and it is not coming off. It still looks perfect. This looks way better than hydrocarbon, this is real carbon fiber with an adhesive backing. Hydrocarbon looks so fake IMO. Eventually I want to get some replacement carbon fiber parts, but they are way too expensive.

I redid mine in the Black and Orange Carbon Fiber. NOT because it was peeling or anything. I just didn't like the color difference between in factory IOM kit and the Orange. However the Black and orange is just right.

I will definitely agree! I think I might have The Carbon Fiber specialists do my center console in IOM and Black! They do a lot of great work from what I've seen! Although I wonder if they had IOM Carbon Fiber. Now that would be sick!

It is the real carbon fiber, I think it is like costs like 30% more
