Looks like we need to be there no later than 6pm on Thursday.
I'm pretty sure you bolded the wrong sentence. Below is why we won't get there at 9pm if we leave at 4am.

Quote:
The trip is 13 hours if we take the 99, hit no traffic, don't stop for gas or food. If you factor in gassing up twice, and making one stop for food (being generous at only an hour), most likely we'll be on the road for 16 hours out of the day. This means if we leave at 4am, we'll arrive at the hotel(s) at 1am including the hour we lose from the time zone change.

Made some calls and it looks like east on 58 all the way to 395 is signal light free. I'll have a unit waiting for us eastbound 58 to southbound 395 (Kramer Junction) so we can make the turn as a group (no stopping for the signal light) and can stay together.

Can it be Stockdale instead?

If not, this will be the way we go. Now to figure out where to stop for Gas.

Also, edited the original post with a third question and modified the first one.

I told Mindz, I can talk to my professor. He's the head of the Criminal Justice department, and friends with the Chief (the chief actually teaches courses here). But if you got it covered, it's fine.

I can do Stockdale HWY too but what about 99?? And they want some numbers from us so they can get an idea of how long the intersections will be shut down for us.

I was just about to start a list.
I need a count of how many will be coming from up north.
Ill get the numbers from modesto/fresno, and there are 5 from Bakersfield.

I think 16 hours is on the safe side.
It's very possible to get there sooner, if everything else goes perfectly

If you cut over at 7th Standard from the 5, there is a couple of food places and gas stations right next to 99 and 7th standard. Us guys/gals from Bakersfield could also meet up there.

You my friend are AWESOME. I always wanted a police escort... well, without the mug shot afterwards.

I think we are going to meet at one of the gas stations between 58 and Famoso. I'm going out there this weekend to find one with enough pumps and parking for everyone. It would just be harder for everyone, including the escort if we get it, if we exit in the city. The less lights and intersections we need to cross, the better.

That way we exit the 99 on Stockdale, and make it one left and 2 right turns. In and out in no time.

Ahh okay, I just figured 7th standard between the 5 and 99 would be less traffic and lights than Stockdale. If we have an escort it would be pretty damn cool to go down the Stockdale durring 8-9am thursday, not that I like attention.

Just figure out the route and let me know the "major" intersections and I'll do what I can. The more we stay on the freeway, the better.. Most PD's/CHP offices are willing to help since those in the group who get caught at lights will be racing to catch up with the rest (and they don't want that). And from a traffic stand point, they want us all together (easier to manage).. If we need traffic breaks on the freeways I can set that up too but it might be easier if we just take all the lanes and let the next group come on the freeway in front of us.

Let me know..
