3rd gear grind

Since the first day I picked up my 2011 2SS/6M I've had problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Especially when the car is cold. When you try to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear it feels like it's block and I'm not able to get it in gear. So I would have to push the shift knob a little harder to get it into 3rd gear but when I do that it makes a very slight grinding noise. I'm not speed shifting just normal driving shifting around 3k RPM with the clutch fully engaged.

So I took my car into Camino Real Chevrolet this past Tuesday to get this problem checked out. Well I got a call today from my SA and he said they ordered a bunch of parts for my transmission and my car wouldn't be done until late next week. He seemed really busy so I didn't get a chance to ask him what parts they're replacing

I've searched the forum and it seems like this has been a issue on many SS 6 speed manuals but not to many people posted what the dealership said was the problem or what parts was changed. Please chime in if you had this problem and if it ever got taken care of or not.

I will keep you guys posted!

P.S Big to Camino Real Chevrolet!! Awesome dealership!

I have the same thing, but in second.

I plan to bring this up on my next visit to the dealer.

I did read in a post here somewhere there is a problem with the synchros. But not yet acknowledged by Chevy. Some have gotten rebuilds and others not.

I also saw one weird thread where a dealer took apart the transmission and then refused to put it back together and refused the warranty because of an aftermarket shifter. uhoh.

My dealer is way cool with me from all the vettes I have purchased, but I have the same issue. I built the motor with 300 miles on the car. I'm going to call them and see what they say about mine. Mostly bad when it is cold or low rpms.

I had the second and 3rd gear syncros go bad in my 6-speed. the dealer replaced them and the trans wasnt quite right. I talked to them again and they ended up giving me a whole new trans!

I have the 2nd to 3rd issue as well. Seems to only happen when the car is cold. Syenite warmed up, it's smooth as butter.

I've only noticed it since the temps got below freezing here in Texas.

Yeah mine was really bad when it's cold.. Usually gets better after maybe 20-30mins of driving. It's so annoying I started shifting from 2nd to 4th I'm just glad they found the problem.
