OP: Drive it for a little while and see if you like it. You can always pull it out and sell it. Do what makes you happy. It didn't work for me but there are plenty out there that like it.

If you do....then look at the MGW. More money and more work to install but the end result is great. They also have a bunch of shifter knobs to choose from.
Definately taller,, I will drive it with the chrome stick for a while to see if I will change my mind about it, weather permitting. If I don't change my mind I will put the other stick in that came with the kit. I was thinking it would be shorter but I see that subzero05 says there the same. I like the look, the firmness, the short throw of the shifter, but when I set in that car I want that stick to be in the right spot, in my hand easy,,comfort,,feel good you know.. The way it is now I want to grab it under the knob.

Note: Called Hurst and they said the stick that comes with #391 6030 is the shortest one they make.. You can get a taller one.

Took my exhaust cat-back off today, I have a corsa ordered. Well while having the exhaust off I dropped the shifter out to see if I had done something wrong with the install. Everything look good, checked the socket were the pivot goes up into, wiped it out everything looked good. Took some pics of the sticks , one pointing out the pivot on the hurst alot of difference from stock. Doe's anybody know how much I should ask for the exhaust?

LOL....love the busted knuckle! Let me guess....from the inside of the center console. That's the one that got me good.

Search around on to see what others are selling exhausts for but don't be surprised if it's little or nothing and hope you don't pay someone to take it away.

I personally think that looks awesome. The Hurst look is classic and I wouldn't change a thing. That thing looks almost identical to the Hurst unit that came stock from the factory in the 1971 Olds 4-4-2 W-30 that I once owned. It's a retro and timeless look that no other shifter has.

The one in my '05 Mustang GT looks the same as yours, and though there may be smoother shifters out there, the Hurst is a definite improvement over stock and no other shifter looks as good, IMO.

Yes, everytime I work on something there seems to be some blood involved and your right every little or free.
