Whats the difference between a Vortech and Procharger? I know the are both very very similiar 'centri' units but what seperates the two?

If you plan on staying stock internal w/ bolt ons and a blower I think the Whipple and KB are best. you can`t rev the AFM lifters high, so a positive displacement blower is best suited for a stock internal L99. Now add the fact that a bigger blower will produce less heat at the same boost level, you don`t have to spin it as fast to make the same amount of boost compared to a smaller blower, and you can run more timing due to the reduced heat and make more power per pound of boost. Whipple and KB are your biggest entry level size, for me it came down to aesthetics, the Whipple is a front feed and the KB is a rear TB mount. I wanted front so I went Whipple, goal was to run a high 10 on the stock pulley, headers, exhaust, CAI and a tune., oh and a stock size set of drag radials. I did it...see sig. No weight reduction. I have to say also the guys at Whipple are awesome to deal with. Very easy to reach and very helpful. The other thing is you have huge expandibility w/ the big 2.9 whipple or KB 2.8 to make really big power down the road if you want. Any of the blowers out there will put a smile on your face regardless of which one you choose.

G force is nice but the long runners mean huge torque off idle which equals lots of wheel spin. Think 1988 IROC-Z w/ the 350 TPI motor w/ the really long intake runners. Would smoke the tires like crazy but run out of steam up top. Obviously that is an extreme correlation but the theory is similar when you compare the Gforce to Whipple or KB.

I think the maggie gives a cleaner look, Procharger or turbochagers just crowd the engine bay to much for my taste. If you are going for max HP there are other choices that will give you more power, but for a daily driver, any forced induction will put a smile on your face.

AFM lifter replacement requires removal of the Cylinder heads to gain access. I suggest Whipple Ted.
