Grand Canyon of potholes meet my tire

Well tonight on my way to Buffalo Wild Wings, I go over the train tacks and bam! hit what was a disgustingly huge pothole. I get to BWW and expect my car and my rim on my front passenger side is bent. I've included a pic, suprisingly thats all the damage that was done that I could see. I'm going to take my car in to get looked at to see if anything more happened, hopefully not though. Would something like this be covered under warranty or do I need to go thru insurance?

No warranty. You could try to get the municipality to pay if you can prove they knew about it and didn't fix it. (good luck). Or you could claim it on you insurance as a comprehensive claim. Your rates shouldn't go up. Mine didn't for a $1300 claim. Or you can find a take off wheel/tire on here or eBay but GM isn't paying for your inattentiveness and blasting a pot hole. Warrantys are for manufacturing defects bud. Sorry.
