Thanks for the input folks. I've been thinking this over for a couple days looked at a few SS's and a new 5.0 and I think I will just hang onto the Cobra a little while longer and wait for the 11's to start showing up used for a better price.

I think I heard that in June you can order 2012. That probably means Sept - Oct deliveries. Then with the Z/28 coming out and with the verts just coming out.....you should be able to start finding some deals in 6-9 mths.

Nothing wrong with keeping the Cobra....especially if it's paid for.

I owned a modded 03 cobra for 4 years and of all the cars and motorcycles I've had it was the best. I sold it and bought an 09 GT500 and it was ok but I was never as happy with it as the 03. I sold the Shelby back in may and picked up a 2010 2ss/rs with 1k miles for $28k a week before Xmas. I haven't driven it yet because of our weather but it sure looks good inside and out. The interior is night and day over the cobra and better than the 07-09 gt500s. My 03 was at 459/462 at the wheels, if I can get this Camaro close to that I'll be happy. The Shelby was fast but i didn't like the solid rear axle.

Well I am back on the fence again, being offered a new 2010 1SS along with $1,500.00 in perf access for a price of $28k with the employee discount, it's getting harder to say no.

I say get the Camaro and Throw a Cam( depends on Cam and CAI ) in with a CAI and longtubes and full exhaust which should bump her to about 485/490 and keep the Cobra so you can get a little taste of forced induction every so often when you want.

Good price on the Camaro imo for that low of miles.

My favorite car has always been the 69 Camaro and I think the 10/11 SS will be as close as I come to one. I'm just wondering if I would end up regret parting with the Cobra.

What mods does it take to get these SS's into the 425-450 rwhp range?
A manual SS with LT's, CAI and a tune will be in that range. Add a cam and your over that range. Slap on a supercharger and your closer to if not over 600rwhp.

Getting an auto will make it more difficult to get to that range, but it is still achievable. It just needs more money thrown at it.

The 03/04 Cobra's nice and they love to be tinkered with, but they are 7 years old and don't have the same look of the Camaro.

If you can afford a new car, go for it.

Nice... That doesn't sound like a bad deal... But just make sure you'll be happy with the base model SS.... Not to discourage you or make you second guess.... but they're are some significant differences between a 1SS and 2SS.... but you may not want all the other upgrades. Just food for thought!

Also, where are you in NC?

Yeah, I don't get the drone that I've heard people up here talk of. I got the Cherrybomb extreme axleback on mine and I remember some people said it droned. I don't know what the hek they were talking about. All I hear is SWEET music. It sounds so damn good. I guess it could be that some people hear things and others don't. Oops, yeah sorry OP. Get the SS.
You will have a blast.

Keep the Terminator, 2010+ SS Camaros are nice but Terminators are factory freaks. What other car can u put $2000-2500 in the motor and push 600+ wheel horsepower.

460 seems low for a Terminator, Do a Stegiemeier Snake Bite ported blower, 3.1" pulley, Bassani 2.5" off-road X, Bassani Cat-back exhaust, JLT CAI and ask me again what 620 rwhp feels like for $2500

Well looks like a done deal should pick up the car tomorrow. My plans to upgrade are GM perf exhaust (free), sticky drag radials, CAI (what's the best one?), and a Amazon Tune. I am hoping that this will get me to atleast 400 rwhp.

WeeZee- You are right I am going to miss the Terminator for sure the car is like pure sex, incredible throttle response with 325 lbs of tq at 2000 rpms. I love the car but it's getting old, has over 90k miles on her and its getting time to drop some big $$$ into her to freshen her up. Things like paint, shocks, struts, clutch, bushings, all need to be replaced and I will never get that money back if I decided to sell. If for some reason the Camaro dissapoints me I will put her up for sale and find another very low mile Cobra.

Nice... I think you'll find out that some of the mods for these cars won't cost you too much to see a good response.

The CAI are all pretty much equal... Some may be slightly better by magazine numbers.. Myself... We have several club members with all different intakes... LMR, K&N, ADM, Halltech, CAI.... and honestly... by dyno numbers, we all were right around the same whp so I think its a toss up and however much you wanna spend.
