Window tint is a must. It will keep your car cooler than anything else except a shade tree.

I live in Florida, and own a black/black car.
I can honestly say that it CAN be brutal. Getting in the car after sitting in the sun can be harsh, but its nothing a few seconds with the windows wont fix. And in MVHO black is the best color for a car, so for me the heat is nothing i cant put up with for the trade off of a bad ass ride.

It can damage the interior if you don't protect it -- I have a black/black car and the dashboard has warped from the sun/heat over the years -- cracked the defrost grille in the front and they had to replace it with another model's grille that would fit! This is without tint and without a sunshield. You can be darn sure I'll have the windows tinted as well as a sunshield anytime my new camaro is in the sun!
