It may come off hard non-porous surfaces, but the paint soaks and saturates into the nylon strands of the stitching. Have you ever spilled or dripped paint on to your carpet (nylon) while painting in your home......it ain't coming off.

Nice Job Revo! =D How did you find doing the Steering wheel and Shifter? I imagine they are weird and awkward positions. I only have the leather wrapped Shifter and Steering wheel, but cloth seats... any advice? =D Wet cloth enough to get off any excess dye?

-EDIT- did you also have to clean the surfaces before you dye? My stitching are a bit dirty o_o

ok, heres mine.....

i only did the headrests so far, but i think they look GREAT!!

for the stitching i used the elmers painters pen in neon orange,

and for the SS i used the fabric marker,
(but its not a push down tip pen,its like a regular magic marker.

turned out better than i could have hoped for.

hello guys, awesome jobs going on here. just a note when i did mine 3 months ago. it still looks great with no fading, maybe dirty but not fading, no more dirty than the white thread turning brown lol.
as far as cleaning, i used a damp cloth as many have, then after that i used adams leather cleaner to get any remaining off the thread area. you might notice this the next day, dont worry, the leather cleaner will remove it not problem. i think a few others posted that they had used maguires, again i used adams, but im sure most liquid leather cleaners (not cream type) will work.
doing the steering wheel just takes a little time.

Lupe,
At the risk of of jacking up this thread by going off topic, I must ask; what kind of aircraft is that in your avatar/signature? I know my WWII aircraft, but I can't quite pin that one down. Kinda looks like one of the Grumman Cats...F8F Bear Cat?....but the cowl is different...and so is the vertical fin?

Here's my P-51.

Yes, let's get back on track. I also found the Elmer's to work the best for me....and I tested 5 different pens on a old vinyl BBQ cover that had white stitching.

I must post one final pic of the Mustang. This one puts it in perspective...I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking that I had a $1,000,000 full size classic WWII airplane.

alfie....how hard was it to do just the outline of the SS on the headrest with the painters pen??

im thinking since i had to buy a 5 pack of the pens to get neon orange
i could put the green to good use.
