Why, do you have a private autobahn on your property you plan to drive the car on? Why would top speed even be a concern for anyone living in the United States?

I guess it's kind of like the reason you have a 710 hp car.... Do you drive that on the streets of Tennessee?

Every day. And no statutes, laws or common sense judgements are being violated when doing so. I am no more a danger to anyone else on the road than I would be if I was driving a Prius.

And I don't see anywhere where I stated that I didn't do the same thing..

This is simply a thead about the Top Speed of the V6. And there's a big difference in 115 mph and 155 mph and I was stating that I didn't realize that.

What he was saying is there's some coolness in being able to go 155, even if you don't, as opposed to 115, just like there's coolness in having 710 rwhp even if you don't use it.

I don't care about top end, I care about getting down the track in a timely fashion.

Sorry to get side tracked, but i think those turbo 4's are putting up some good numbers. GMPP released info for LNF stage kits and they are willing to warranty some good numbers:

•2007 & 2008 Solstice/Sky Manual 290 Hp @5200 rpm and 340 ft-lbs @3600
•2007 & 2008 Solstice Auto 290 Hp @5200 rpm and 325 ft-lbs @3600
•2008 HHR SS Manual and Auto 290 Hp @5200 rpm and 315 ft-lbs @4800

No reason this couldnt be offered in a Camaro. Aftermarket companies are starting to hit 400 ft-lbs, and they're just getting started on the LNF.

I hope they do consider a 4cyl turbo in the future. i'd buy one.

I hope they use the LNF as a blueprint to build a twin turbo, direct injection 4.0 V8 with 580hp & 650 ft/lbs.

how do you remove the speed limiter?
minus aerodynamics I don't have roads either.
but the very idea of a limiter annoys me.

The only way I've ever heard of bypassing the speed limiter is with an aftermarket chip/tuner device commonly referred to by name as the Hypertech of Superchip. Although there has been an increasingly number of these tuners being made by other companies now, I'm sure there will be even more once Productions starts. They will run from $400-600.

It's a shame that ANY cars even come with such a thing as a limit on this or that. I should be able to go as fast as the car can go....after all I paid for it. If they are going to limit anything, they should limit those damn riding lawnmowers, those damn things could kill somebody!
