Thanks Bud. I took a close look at the door panel I can see it now. What issues did you have with painting your door panels?

Well Pumpkin has taken up residents across the street from home. My Buddy Tom from ESS will be helping with a few of the next mods. If every thing goes as planned, tomorrow will be the Heritage Grill installation day.

You seriously don't want me to go into that...lol

First, the guys that did my panels didn't put on enough layers of paint. So, you could see straight through the panel. Then, at the top of the ridge where the ABL is going to shine through, the didn't do an even layer of paint. So, it was brighter in some areas than others.

Then, there was the entire deal of the panel having what appeared to be some sort of bubble between the panel and the paint. well, it wasn't a bubble...it was possibly an imperfection with the plastic. But, I tried to sand it...and yes, it was a PAIN.

Just remember...if you are going to paint the inside, you are going to have a HELL of a lot of sanding to do. It needs to be PERFECT!

I see. Sounds like you had a rough time with it. I was actally thinking about painting the outside of the panels. I am guessing the draw back is the possibllity of scratching them, or am I missing something?

That's about right. That's the only reason I didn't want to paint the outside...scratching them. But, that is really going to be the way to go. Paint and clear coat...only way to do it.

Sorry guy's kind of got side tracked working on the Pro Street car. Got to get things in order for a Tuesday load the trailer day. Transporter leaves Wednesday afternoon for Vegas for our season opener. I think Pumpkin will be back burnered til after I return from Vegas now.

Never took out the stock panels. I had a new set of clear panels that I was fortunate enough to come across which ended up being pretty much destroyed. I did take the door panels off...but left the inserts in. No rattles.

Possibility of the PSCA race in Vegas this weekend being postponed. Might get to the Heritage grill installation sooner then I thought.
