Yea, this thread is going down real, real fast. It was actually a really good thread about 2 hours ago...

Seems like it always gets bad on the weekends and around 2-3pm. Also odd....that would be the same time highschool gets out...*LIGHTBULB!*

Anyway. I pulled out at about the same time as a car made a right at the intersection at speed and was gaining on me pretty quick... so I step on it. made some exhaust noise but no tire squeal and once I hit the speed limit I slowed down a bit...

Next thing I know my driver's window was full of police car.... he didn't look at me or anything... I think he saw what happened but wanted me to know he was there... Just in case I was feeling froggy...

Bottom line, it was the Officers call... Sure I would have tried to explain what happened. and maybe would have gotten off... but... when the police are around just be cool.

my 4 cents... LOL
So you pulled out as safely as you could and the cop though he would let you know he was there?? Cops like that are just cops because they where the nerds in school. You made the situation as safe as you could without waiting 5 hours for traffic to clear. Screw cops like that.

In the Jeep, I always break the tires a bit. It's not that I'm accelerating really hard, but that I don't have traction control and I'm in a light, torque hungry Jeep. I get a little chirp, nothing excessive or dangerous, but a split second of looseness. But, I'm still going slower than most of traffic, so could I get in trouble?
