Looks like some people have entered some serious stages of grieving. its ok the car will be born after all. lets just hope when GM goes to congress they can measure up to their expectations.

CGM will begin to be built in APRIL. This is only one month off...not going to kill anyone here.
Some people can handle delays...I can handle a delay. Others cannot. They may be at the end of a car lease or a similar situation and need their car ASAP. If they don't get it because of a CGM delay they may switch to another car. They may see it as a sign of GM failure. I'm not saying I would see it that way but you have to understand most GM buyers are not fanatic and in their minds they have no tolerance for any setbacks.

And how can we even state for fact that CGM will be built in April? I thought Scott said he couldn't answer anything about CGM?

CGM: GM was a little late in letting us know that this color was delayed but they told us why and were up front about it.
GM told who...us? The Camaro5 website? First off, the dealers had to tell us...secondly, the masses of preorders who don't frequent this website still have no idea. This information hasn't hit the official Camaro website and probably never will.

The mods need to take a chill pill, I agree But we still love them anyways

At least all the moaning is being kept now in one thread.. Let it be this one.. If GM doesn't tell us whether the ambient lighting will be available at launch at this point in time do to a supplier not delivering as they promised, or trouble getting it to work properly.... in my humble opinion it is a big mistake. Getting the base upset for something as big an issue as this (and yes it is a big issue to most of us) is not what they need to do at this point in time. They need to tell us before it is too late to change the orders which is soon in order to give people the opportunity to make changes. THis item was heavily marketed and advertised to us for the pre-order and was in the pamphlets and work orders..etc. making it important. If GM does not, I would not call it a successful launch if that happens. If GM comes out and states it won't be there or there is an 80% chance it is delayed, then at least they told us who have pre-orders and down payments beforehand what to expect.. Then all is good with the company and nobody would be complaining as much as they are now.. If GM decides to have it installed later on when it does become available or when they figure out how to do it correctly and it is something the dealer could install later on, then that would be OK in my book but they need to tell us soon. Overall the botom line is GM needs to keep us better informed about this issue in particular. I know they were hush hush about other issues involving the engine and so forth, however this is different because it is a cosmetic thing that we are paying for and is a large part for ordering the 2SS or 2LT for many.

It is all but official, In fact one of our own has had his CGM order processed and a delivery date set... and a confirmation from an insider...

Not sure why GM hasn't "Officially" announced this yet. But I'd say this one is a done deal.

Although this is a very valid point. I'm not so sure that the average consumer is going to look to GM for this answer anyway. Again, the dealers are responsible to set the appropriate expectation for when you can get the car you want based on what GM has told them/us. Example: buyer goes in to dealer and says, I want a white camaro. Dealer says, you're will have to wait. buy then discusses his options with dealer...

To me this is what should happen.

if some how the guy that was working on the ABL, is thinking about making the door panels and dash board essay to remove and so one would be able to apply different color dash and door panels that would be cool. just think you could be sporting red, gray, black, or the color of your choice any time you want. its like driving a new car every week. I now i would buy at least a couple of sets.

My thought on that is NOPE. I doubt it seriously. There's been way too much negativity (unfortunately) for GM to do this again. Every time GM approaches the cage with fresh meat, their hand get mauled off. Not defending....just an observation. :slice:

Just had to get my nickel in here. There is no doubt the Malibu will out sell the Camaro by a huge margin and I’m sure those that purchased that vehicle have some attachment to the name, Malibu, but I doubt that you will ever see this kind of nit picking of a car that . . . one, needs the support of the members . . . two, have been given unprecedented levels of development and pre-production info, the very things that kept and keeps this board active. . . three, there’s always three, GM has been given several opportunities for us to influence direction in ways that have been out of the ordinary so STFU and let them make it happen.

Damn, GM just announced that they are letting go around 3400 of their salaried engineering workforce, that is in addition to the purge done last year, and your worried about some lights. You got em on your car now, are they factory? And at the end of the day what have they done that overwhelms you with glee? I know you need this, and its life altering . . . I know. Regardless of whether or not it was a stated option, this will pass. Try some rational thinking and imagine if that diaper didn’t get changed you might end up with a rash.

On the other hand they HAVE received over 12,000 preorders because of the early involvement with the enthusiasts
