yes, i read it ..and you are implying what??so please reply why is it a better question if i read it,, where they took a nt05r and tried to get best track results or where they referred to the tire as a nto5 without the r on the end..but i understood what they were referring to...where you have corrected this tooo many times...thought we moved on from this point..i took a professional written articel comparing 2 top end drs and posted for all to be informed...all you have done is try to attack 1 person for posting good comparison info and be an ass...oh, i,m sorry you contributed that to do a burnout on 4 wheel disc brakes with a 6-0700 rwhp{800 at crank} you power brake and try to ride a 1 to 2k clutch instead of buying a 150 line lock..thanks for not teaching me to do burnouts..caverman, good luck , just watch for rim offsets..srt 10 has good info, he will steer you right

you gave i think good info. from my car on the tires Nt 555 @738rwhp they dont last and not good in rain at all . I test that with about 3sets of them. They just looks so good on the 20,s on the street horsepower run them down on the big end but thats old set up new and improved nasty.

Nitto NT05 vs NT05R , this is op.....so i believe that op is looking at nto5r, that is relevant..as post grew, topic expanded to possible track only setup and went from there..op has considered seperate wheels and tires_)track only} that is nto5r...personally mt et is my choice..softer sidewall, more consistant launch and less shock on drivetrain due to softer sidewall same price....so maybe we are getting off topic...even article occasionally states nto5 when it is obvious they are talking about nto5r..nitto justs makes this way more confusing then it needs to be..imo...but back to topic...op seems to be looking for a good track and street tire and just showing as much option available..haven,t you done something and then found out 2 weeks later about a different option you could of went and it would of been betyter for you , had you only known 2 weeks prior...imo

Thanks guys for the input.
My problem is that I change my mind way too much. The reason I was asking this question is because my initial thought was to put 20x9 all around and use my 20x8 off the front for DRs. If I were to do that (which I'm not now) the widest I would go would be 275. When looking at options I would have to go NT555 or NT05. For the 20" the NT05R starts at 315. So I was wanting to know what the difference was in the NT05 vs NT05R. What I got out of all this was that the NTO5 is really a street tire and not a DR. I also got so other stuff like the fact that I should really use a line lock because I would need to heat them up pretty good. That's why it's sometimes good to get off track from the original subject. However, since then the guy at Discount Tire quoted me $875 out the door on some C6 Z06 replicas with NT05R on them. That's going to be a better option for me I think. Yes, this sounds pretty damn cheap but I'm just saying that's what I was quoted. If anything I think he might have mis-quoted the wheels. He said they were $125+shipping....but he also said the 18" NTO5R would be just under $500 for both mounted up. If that's all true it's a hard one to beat.

caverman, heres a real good tire site, bought at least 5 sets of tire here, and nobody has beat there prices yet..http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...849250491..the 305x45x18 is 246 with free shipping, they also have a 285...good luck..if possible keep your sidewall @ 45 if possible ..so tire price is def a decent deal...i spent weeks looking at tons of replica c6 wheels and could not find one with the 40mm offset..most were 56 and some were even 65mm...let me know what you find out on this...i am interested to know, as i,m sure others would love to find a vendorfor the c6 wheel with 40mm offset for under 300 a pair..

Listen when buying Nittos don't rule out your local Nitto distributer/tire shop. I just picked up Nitto 555R 305's for $292 per tire mounted out the door. Much cheaper than the link above when you figure total price.

NT 555R Drag Radial 305/45R-18 219 delivered...another 20.00 at most for mount and balance, {walmart charges 9.99 mt and bal}......is 239...this is example price and not exact sure of your tire size other that 305.. if that is your tire, you spent53.00 more per tire..but if you went with 20. 305/35R-20 @ 283.20 and u spent 292.with tax mount and bal.even with the 50 rebate if you buy 4 , barely beats your price.. , that is a great price..but there are always deals...this was just a good site to find very good price tires with free shipping and no tax..good starting place if you want prices...def shop around
