The dealer must prove that your part actually caused the damage. A dealer MAY NOT decline a warranty just because you have an aftermarket part. The burden of proof is on them.

Of course it's up to you to hire a lawyer and spend the time to dispute....

Warranty void issue\question

I think this is going to not only depend on which dealer you have your car serviced at, but exactly on what you replaced. You said "headers back" in your question..does that mean you have headers installed? Are they short or long tube? From what 3 of the dealers I've dealt with have said, Long Tube headers will most likely void your drivetrain warranty, since they are considered a major performance upgrade. Short-tubes won't and the cat-backs don't affect it, but apparently they get excited if you put LT's on. Basically, they can argue that this level of upgrade means you're abusing\racing\etc. the car. Again, your dealer may be different, but if you toast the motor, trans or diff in your car, and one of the service big wigs in Detroit asks the "servicing dealership" if you have mods and LT's are noted, you might get hosed. Depends on how much your dealership stands behind you. I don't think an exhaust change can really be blamed for any mechanical failures in the drivetrain, but it's a legal way out for GM. You have to remember, your dealer that's making the repairs under warranty "BILLS" the guys at GM for the work. Someone has to pay. Nothing's free. If GM rejects the bill or questions it, the dealer has to cough up the money, and SH*T rolls downhill from there.

Dyno tune is traceable, even if reversed, so unless you take your stock ECM out, and have your car tuned to a spare ECM and then swap em back, they'll know. You would have to swap out all your mods at that point anyway along with the ECM, and the money and time cost wouldn't justify anything that the dealer would be repairing anyway.

Long story short, Warranties are for girls! (or for completely stock cars..) You mod it, you own it!
Just my opinion.

Let the dealer fix the seats, the radio, or change the oil, but most of them are going to try and find any way they can to put the repair cost back on you if you made any changes.

Ask your specific dealer is the bottom line. This would be one case where "asking for Forgiveness rather than Permission" is NOT going to pay off for you.

You know this will be required so if your worried about a warranty you shouldn't do anything unless you have unlimited money and patience.

I mean it's silly if anyone really takes another posters word for it. And I wouldn't even trust the dealership. So it's just people stating an opinion and you can take from it what you want. Buyer beware!

I mean I thought about getting less expensive cats but that would mean cutting into the stock ones. At least now if emmisions becomes an issue I can put the stock ones back on.
*** Please don't anyone even try and say with confidence that the Hi Flo modified cats will pass.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are Edelbrock E Force Dealers now.

Feel free to PM me for prices.

Feel this will be a great addition to many other forced induction lines we offer.

Thanks

Are you still running stock half shafts? Thought i remember you saying you were.

Garth,

Wondering how soon I may need them?

Anyone else running stock half shafts with over 650 RWHP?
