Yes the pace car is CGM, and Jr's car the top half is CGM. One in the shade and one in the sun, to totally different effects.

another topic...The part number for the Dovetail spoiler on the sign above is: 92225526. But, the part number for the dovetail spoiler on the GMPP site is 92207433. Am I missing something?

The difference of the part #s might have to do with the one on the GMPP site apparently having a brake light in it and the one on the Dale car having no brake light?

This is from the GMPP catalog -
92207433 Wing Spoiler Package, Primed (not shown)
92225526 Wing Spoiler Package, Black (not shown)
92225528 Wing Spoiler Package, Victory Red (not shown)
92225530 Wing Spoiler Package, Red Jewel Tintcoat (not shown)
92225532 Wing Spoiler Package, Cyber Grey (not shown)

They put the wrong part # on the placard. Also, when you go to the page you referenced, rollover the line item on the bottom right and the 92207433 part # comes up with a suggested MSRP of $400.

Hope it helps~!

So what does it matter, judging a paint scheme on a car with very little photos and such a big mystery, I think it would matter if it was a different paint than CGM. I think alot of people would have to rethink there choice............If that was the case, but it is CGM, verified and I happy to know that. So I would say yes, it does really matter, to me anyway!
I understand that -- the "why?" was for "why would they change the name if its the same color"

No matter how many pictures we see of cyber gray it will always look different/better in person. Until you can go see a cyber gray camaro on the lot no one will ever be satisfied with just a picture.

oic, I misunderstood your point. You are right about pictures compared to seeing it in person too, you can't compare! CGM is awesome, and I am 100% sure now after seeing it in person! Thanks.

OK guys,

I just got back from Daytona after hanging out with RT21 and Silver Streak. Both great guys.

Now, I've seen CGM a couple different times on a ZR1 and other Vettes. much like the pics you've seen here CGM has a blue metalic flake in it that you can easily see when you look at the paint up close.

After spending a bunch of time looking at both jr's car and the pace car, I've decided they are NOT Cyber Grey Metalic.

I'm sorry I didn't have my camera with me today to take a pic of it. But I'm 99% positive based on what I've seen they are not CGM.

Now just so you know, Jr's car is under the tent and not in direct sunlight. While the Pace car is under the sun. Today was a bright sunny day with plenty of direct light to look for the blue hue/pearl effect. But it was not to be seen. I looked up close, nose inches from both cars, and I backed away looking at different angles and surfaces to try and see it. It ain't there.

I'm not saying that GM isn't going to deliver the CGM that we've seen on the ZR1, I'm just saying this grey on the two daytona cars is not the same.

Again I'm sorry I don't have pics. My wife has the camera today... Silly mother in law...

So......
