I just know there are so many people out there who are thinking their car is lacking. And it sucks. I hated it when mine was that way and I remember the frustration.

Besides. It gives the Camaro a bad rap.

Ok, so I finally noticed a huge difference after the pull. I was getting around 10.8 - 11.4 MPG. All of my driving is in town with a lot of stop and go traffic. The first fill-up after the fuze pull was around 11.8 MPG. Today was my second fill-up after the pull and I did 14.3 MPG. I fill up with 93 and use the same filling station, so the difference is more than likely the fuze pull. I figured I would throw the information out there into the mix. Just for reference I drive an M6.

I'm fairly positive my dealer put 87 in the tank first. But I use 91 and was wondering if I should still do the fuse pull? Because most people are using 93 and doing the pull.

If it ever had low grade in it and you haven't done the pull, then yes. It needs it.

fuse pull vs. car 'waking up' ?

Hi everyone,
just picked up my car this week. 2SS RS A6. Its a beast!!!!! I put about 150km on just the first day! It Rips!!!

The fuse pull thing is interesting, I have read around in this forum that members have said their car seems to somehow "wake up" and perform much better at around 5000km or 8000km, .....
so I'm wondering if maybe the computer does eventually have the ability to reset itself for 91 octane gas after this point. Could it be that GM has it programmed that way to allow for a softer engine break-in?

I guess the answer would be from anyone who saw improvement after the fuse pull and who also had already put 12000+ KM on their car.

any thoughts on this?

I think the 'Wake Up' is exagerated.

I know there have been a few who dyoned theri cars new and after 5 and 10 k and showed no difference. Including me. But my fuse pull difference only showed a 15 HP difference. So who knows.

You also have to remember when people do Dyno pulls they look at the PEAK HP and TRQ numbers. Going to the low Octane Map really hurts your cars performance thru out the curve. Really hurts you off the line.
