The A pillar while backing out of the parking lot is always a problem. Once you turn the wheels a little and start edging out slowly its ok. I'm always terrified someone wont see me backing out and I get hit. Not all people are courteous. Although it sounds like im harping. I accepted this when I bought the car and I love it. She's a beauty.

Dealing with blind spots...

The best solution I have found for cars with blind spots is a set of these:

Can get them for cheap at any store with an automotive section and while they won't give a sense of exact distance, once you get used to them you don't have blind spots anymore, and you don't need to crane your neck either.

I will probably jump on one of the aftermarket back-up camera systems though. Never been excellent at backing into spots, and they are just too darned cool.

O.K. Lets for a few seconds just say the blinds spots are as bad as they say. I am driving and I want to get in the right lane. OH NO, They tell me there is a HUGE BLIND SPOT, and I can't get over because I don't know if there is a car there or not. Soulution: Quickly, with right foot apply about 1.5 seconds of at least 3/4 throttle. Presto: In 2 seconds you can get into the right lane, There IS nobody there....

Now really, I have a disability and I can't turn my head real well to look into the blind spots for cars. I have had this for now over 30 years. I have learned to adjust your mirrors the proper way to see if there is a car there. I also try to plan lane changes ahead of time so I am aware of traffic around me. I have no problem driving the Camaro. Heck the Colorado pickup I had before this was worse and they never mentioned that in a review of the Colorado. In my 53 years I have never driven a car as much fun as this Camaro.

My Camaro is my daily driver. I've gotten used to the visibility issues.

The only thing I still have to be super careful about is changing lanes going to the right. It's easy if I'm passing the right lane, as I can use the mirrors to see when it's clear. Still, on a 6 or 8 lane highway, I have had a few incidents where another car is changing lanes from the rightmost lane into the lane I'm changing lanes into at the same time...and mirrors don't always catch this. I haven't hit anyone, and for some reason some instinct in me has made me double check the lane when this happens and I abort my lane change. I've changed my driving style to take this in to account as well, and try to keep my situational awareness up to monitor 2 lanes over, not just 1.

Situational awareness is key to driving any car, especially the Camaro.

What gives a car its character should never be considered a flaw.

I can think of no greater crime than removing that which gives a vehicle its’ character purely for read=sons of improved functionality. American cars are an art form, an expression of the America way of life. They are designed and built on passion, buying one is an emotional experience. It is all about how it makes you feel. Yes, you might fool yourself into believing that you have made a logical selection, but that is seldom the case went it comes to purchasing a true American legend.

The car does have blind spots, but who cares ! That's the price we pay for an awesome looking car, just learn how to drive it !!! Every vehicle has it's blind spots.. That's life.. if you want an awesome looking car then live with it !! You are supposed to know what's around you at all times and get the big picture anyway.. That involves checking all you mirrors every 5 seconds and remembering where everyone is. If you move over slow, or speed up and move over you should have less problems, but the key is slow and graceful lane changes that you can get out of if someone beeps the horn.. Also you are always supposed to leave yourself an out or many outs.. If you drive like an idiot, well then the car has blind spots and you will probably sooner or later have an issue down the road..

I use my mirrors 100% of the time in my camaro, and never turn my head.. if you turn your head you are not looking in front of you.. I drive tractor trailers for a living and turning ones head is not an option.. blind spots are a fact of life.. Some people really need to learn how to drive, most don't really know what they are doing, but they think they know it all..

I was just sitting in mine today driving along, and saying how secure and nice this feels. It's kind of like "sneaking" around. I drove my C6 vette the other day and it's like being in a fish bowl. I have no issues whatsoever with the visability. I love it!!!

Really, guys, this visibility issue is a non sequitur; drive as I do, with your eyes firmly closed.

I can't see s**t out of my Camaro's windows . I'll have to wait for winter to pass so I can take off the car cover and solve this problem

2012 ZL1 made the comparison that I was waiting for someone to make ... driving a delivery vehicle. I never drove a rig, but had jobs that required the use of small cargo trucks or windowless vans that a "C" license can drive. I'm a look-over-shoulder person but I could get used to that. Good frickin' grief. At least the Camaro has a rear window.

Frankly every car update I've made, for a few days I'd find myself looking over my shoulder directly into the C pillar of the "new" car. You *can* learn new habits.
