Vid: just installed JBA midpipes (w/ Borla Atak CB)

Just got done installing a set of JBA midpipes w/ cats (already had the Borla ATAK installed). WOW! What a difference! If you like loud, then this is what you want. As far as "seat of the pants", I don't know. I just know this sucker is a lot louder and I LOVE IT. Thus far I have driven 10 miles (with several WOT pulls) and no CEL.

Install on the driver's side was a piece of cake. Install on the passenger was a piece of cake until I attempted to remove the rear O2 sensor (after removing the cat of course). Every O2 sensor was easy except for this one. I think GM damaged/stripped the threads when installing the O2 sensor. After a 1/2 turn (removing the sensor) it became very very very difficult to remove.....it would not budge!!! After spraying a very small amount of wd40 and letting it sit, it finally moved, but continued to be very difficult. After finally removing the rear O2, it was obviously stripped/damaged. Pissed off, I shoved that sucker in the new midpipe. After some cursing it tightened it all the way down (probably shouldn't have done it, but I was pissed). I know eventually, if I ever decide to reinstall the stock cats, I'll have to get a new rear O2 (not gonna try to remove it and install it again) and retap the rear O2 bung (if possible).

All in all ...... sound is AWESOME!

Here is a vid. I only brought it up to 4500 - 5000 rpms (didn't want to piss off the neighbors )... enjoy...

there will be pretty much zero power gains until you retune the car. What kept you from going to Long Tubes?

i think he was going more for sound. most people who get high flow cats dont want to void the warranty yet. the cats seem not to be setting off codes for the most part.

I will try and get more vids up this weekend. As far as s-type or Atak, it's up to you. If you want loud, got with the Atak. The s- type will still be loud, but not as loud as the Atak. I personally love it loud.

Thank you! Those are the stock manifolds. I thought about LTs as well, but decided to wait a couple years. This way if anything goes wrong, it's easy to return to stock and there is no flash on the car's computer.

There is a gain. Others have seen it on dynos. As far as LTs, wanted to keep the warranty intact for a couple years. Eventually I may go with LTs. Haven't decided.
