Wouldn't it help the economy if you guys offered the GM discounts that GM itself is deciding is worthy of being used on the camaro?

GM is not offering any discounts on a car that isn't even out yet. What is your question?

FROM CAMAROSCOTTY:

1/9/09 IDL OFFICIAL THREAD - NEWS: PRODUCTION START DELAYED

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:
Please focus here for now.
A few quick thoughts on the March 16th startup to calm people down...
See Scotts comments.

Start of production NOW 3/16/09

TRUE HP #'s

L99 = 400 HP
LS3 = 426

Convertible as a 2011 model

Ambient lighting - NO NEW NEWS

Factory may apply more stripes in near future

UPDATE:

ALL OFFERED DISCOUNTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM DAY 1

Door Sill plates STANDARD on V8's, and available for V6's

SS demand not a big concern, it may or may NOT be a cause for a constraint

Brake calipers are BLACK with CHEVROLET in WHITE, and BREMBO in RED

HERITAGE GRILLE has a bowtie gold badge

1 month delay not a result of Cadence supplier issues - secondary suplliers already up to speed

Rear gears: 327 in V6, and 345 in V8's

Perelli snows recommended for 20" with factory perf tires if in a snowy area

All sold orders anticipated to be built by the October consensus period. (assuming a dealer did not oversell!)

Roseville?

Sorry already#1 in San Jose, strange that your saying Roseville has the highest allocation in Cali. I cruise through there when i visit my brother is Sacramento and see tumbleweeds through there.

You might want to get caught up to date on your IDL's before you start telling those of us who have been paying attention to all the information GM has provided. Up to this point GM has stated " All discount will be available on the Camaro". As a dealer of Camaro's you really should know your business before telling a Camaro5 member what GM is or isn't offering on this car. Shame on you for not having the correct information. As a dealer you should be the one telling our members what is and is not available, not having one of us give you your information!
Sounds to me like more mis-information from a dealer who dosn't have enough information!

Wow, brutal. Hey San Jose, I worked at Courtesy Chevrolet for 5 yrs and they had no where near what we have in inventory, so please. And gac, we all know that GM will have supplier and GMS on all their invoices its rebates I'm talking about and we won't know until the car gets here. All I'm saying is I'll sell the car at MSRP no dealer mark up. People will get whatever they are entitled to when the car arrives and let's just hope it comes sooner than later, right?

This is a brutal bunch...They are WELL educated on the car....But they're a good bunch. Most of them have educated their dealers where they ordered their cars.

But again, A dealer that doesn't do any additional mark up is good in my book!

I've seen this picture before.... rerun!

Not "brutal" just educated, focused and tired of middle management at so many dealerships not knowing the facts specific to 2010 CAMARO. AND SOME WHO THINK THEY DO!

Scottie AND Teamlynn EXCEPTED!

Sell all the Camaro's you can, as soon as you can --- because you're looney politicians want everyone in CA to drive a golf cart. They're trying to put all you dealers out of business. As for a domestic car with 400+ HP, they'll ban them -- but foreign cars (from mfr's that sell less than 60,000 units in CA) that's okay!! Go figure

With this in mind...thank you Camaro Scotty for all of your words of wisdom. If you were closer I'd be dealing with you in a heartbeat. After watching the way Dodge dealers ripped off consumers for over MSRP pricing on the Challenger and seeing the prices tank so quickly I am starting to think that the same thing could happen with the Camaro. The economy is in much worse shape now than when the Challenger came out.
I'll keep an open mind, but if August rolls around and my 2SS is not in my garage yet it does'nt make much difference to wait another 9 months to get one since it would have been in storage most of that time anyway. I'll consider cancelling at that point and waiting for additional options and employee pricing.

MSRP is a marked up price in my opinion. With this economy, I believe it is insane to pay over invoice for any new car. I hope the economy turns around fast but if it doesn't, the Camaro's will be under invoice shortly.
