Quite sad now. It seems that the blue is more cerulean and would be a closer match to the ABM paint than it is to the teal aqua ABL. How dissapointing

Bought and Elmers BLue (no not Glue LOL) pen today. Probably get to it next week, as I have two cars to get ready for sell, and the dash ABL to do first.

Worked on mine yesterday, got the front done and was totally impressed. I can't wait to finish the rear. Best bang for the buck so far!

Agree, I only have the leather steering wheel and shift knob, but it was fun to do!

Exclamation

Hi guys,
I actually don't have a camaro but a corvette, and I came across this thread. I can't believe I didn't know about this sooner! I am planning on doing this to my car, but am having a hard time finding a good color match. I have the le mans blue made in 2005-2006. I wanted to make the interior blue, but the blue pens you guys have used are more of a light blue rather then my dark blue. Here's a picture of my car to get you an idea of the color. I have cashmere interior so I think the dark blue will really pop. Thanks in advance!

Sweet Car

I think the blue would really look nice as well. Good luck on finding exactly the right color. When you get it done, you'll have to come back and show us how it looks

The pen I used was from Staples, a bic markit permanent ink. It wicks right into the thread and turned out better than the dye pen (which I found to be a pitb to work with). Real happy with how it turned out.

So I tested a section with the Elmers Blue... not digging it. It is too light, looks like Smurf blue. I need to find a darker blue.

And any idea on what to use to take off some excess paint on the leather?

I was looking today and I have quite a few excessive paint spots on the steering wheel and on various spots on the leather.

Leather cleaner if it's not too bad.

I did a google search for removing paint from leather and found a few solutions, one was nail polish remover (without acetone). It works, but it also takes the paint off so you'll end up repainting.

Another suggestion was olive oil. This works, but it's a very very very slooooooow going process. If you're a patient person, or there is not too much to take off, I'd go this route.

I didn't try any other alternatives.
