Feels like Chevy is choosing for us-
They have told me so much different mess that I went in and got somethings straight. My priority has been all over the place, so I made the Sales Manager pull it up on the computer.I was number 5.I will tell you that if you ordered from The Cary ,NC dealership the first V6 was like 8 in line.It is sad to say ,but I think it really comes down to who is buddies with those guys.I put my $1000.00 deposit down in July and was told then I was number 3.I can tell you I have been pretty upset about all this.If it want so late in the game I would change dealers.

I understand your frustration, but you need to see it from a dealer's point of view. Who are you going to give priority spots to - a loyal customer who has bought six cars from your dealership in the last five years, or some "Joe" of the street who has never done business with your dealership, and after the sale will most likely never see again after the sale?

My dealer actually asked me if I had done business with them in the past.

I don't know if that has anything to do with the "priority" but he did ask that question.

I told him that my family had been coming to them for years (They bought their first "new" car off of them...a Chevy Citation ). I personally haven't purchased a car from them but have had 3 Chevy's and all have been serviced there...which is why I chose that dealership.

Unless it was #1 (or possibly #2) it seems to me that it doesn't really matter if you have a low VIN number. I doubt if VIN #8 is going to sell for any premium to some collector. I think Hendrick is just being a big shot and even at #1, he would be lucky if he could resell the car for what he paid at BJ.

Also, I would rather not have one of the first cars down the line with workers unfamiliar with putting the car together and the bugs that might have to be worked out.

Patience grasshopper! Just waiting till I can see the colors and ineriors at my local dealer, whenever that will be.

Yeah I don't know what's up with them. Small town and they do not know a whole heck of alot. I was encouraged the other day with what we saw but the dealer is telling me they might get 1 this summer and that goes to the guy ahead of me since he wanted his since 2006.

Oh well time will tell I guess.

The car would've gone for MUCH less if it wasn't going to a charity.

And while the workers obviously won't have as much experience when building the early cards, they'll be going slower and paying more attention so I would argue that early cars will be better in that respect. They're already building cars for the CTF so it's not like 001 will be the first car they've built.

Call your dealer and see if he got any on the consensus that was last Friday. If the dealer's allocation is over 10 he got one more then likely.

I see, I ordered my car from them in late oct. I got an email from Lou Long last Fri saying my order had been accepted. Im wishing for an early delievery but who knows. I also insinuated that the better my experience the more of my buisness they would get since my wife is on the market for a new vette so maybe that helps me out. Also they may be ordering their 2ss cars first because the demand for them will be highest and they can try harder to get top dollar for them. When I ordered my car they told me their were only 2 allocations left, then a few weeks later after I had placed my order I called them to ask if they had any allocations and they said "we only have 2 left, selling like crazy"...I think they drop alot of little white lies to sell cars ya kno?
