Our system will actually give you intake temps that are lower than the stock air box under low speed conditions. We averaged about 8 degree cooler intake temps than stock from 0 to 5 mph. This comes into play during launching-the cooler the air the more power your motor will make. After about 10 mph the stock system moves closer to ambient where it will maintain ambient to 1 or 2 degrees above just as ours does. Our system and any system that does this efficiently is a true cold air intake. Logically, if two intake systems are showing inlet air temps right at ambient, neither can say they are better in that aspect. It is important to realize an air box that has gaps on the radiator side where the tube passes through the air wall or along the top edge will run higher air intake temps-even at higher speeds. Controlling inlet air temps is the first thing. After that it's important to have a large filter to minimize restriction, a good entry from the filter to the duct work and a large, smooth radius to enter the throttle body. |

I changed up from airaid v2 to Injen long tube. It stays 7-8 degrees cooler then stock at all rpms and not above ambient. After driving the Airaid tube, even modded with more cooler air coming in and shielded was warm in 50 degree weather. The Injen was cold! Sound and response better then short ram as I can compare one to the other.

It's not my car. It's an SS that was at the local car meet in December. I can't remember the member's name on the website. :( But, the car did look good in person!
