Sorry for the lack of updates this week, I was stuck in a training class for work...anyhow...

I dropped my Camaro off this morning at Vararam to give them some time to try out a few ideas for more gains on the manual V6.

Impressions on the first unit installed:
I've been very happy with it so far. No check engine lights. Feels like consistent gains across the entire RPM range. With the stock unit, performance was inconsistent. Lower RPMs would seem to bog down and then it would just take off above 3500-4000rpms. With the Vararam unit, there doesn't seem to be a lull in power output like there was with the stock unit.

Will update everyone again once I pick up my Camaro.

About the near $400 price....that could be a hard pill to swallow if that is what it ends up being....well see. This intake will have to be the "shizzit" to be worth that because I can't honestly see the material cost for building these units to be any more than any of the others...but heck what do i know? lol

But I'm still interested! Looking forward to more info.
I got a quote from a vendor that was less than $400, but I don't want to say on here. The final pricing is up to Varavarm to announce.

I just hope they'll have them done & the vendor will have it for the Camaros for Heros event March 25-27 so I can get it. If not, I may just go with something else.

It just keeps getting better. Patrick did a few more things today to tweak the design a bit for the V6 manual and I can tell that he picked up some more power. I need to put some miles on it this weekend to do a bit more testing but I'm pretty sure we're getting pretty close to being done.

For those that are concerned about this intake, whether it be price or the time it's taking to get it into the market, I can assure you that from what I've seen with Vararam, they are determined to eek out every last bit of power they can from the V6 with this intake. There is some serious R&D behind the Vararam intakes. It's not some thrown together tube with a filter on the end of it and hope for the best design. They are making minor design tweaks, on the order of a millimeter here and a millimeter there to ensure the ECU has the engine running at it's best. In the testing done today, the air intake temps were reading at or below ambient temps. Also keep in mind that all of the detailed fine tuning being done for the manual has already been completed for the automatic. They are so close to having this thing available for the V6 crowd but I'm glad to see they are working very hard to get it just perfect.

Just be patient and I'm sure y'all are going to be very happy you waited for this intake.

That's awesome news. So they are releasing the manual and auto versions at the same time?

Part of the work they are doing now is to see just how close they can get the gains to be for both the manual and automatic with a single unit. If they can't get optimal results for both types with the same unit, there has been some discussion about releasing one for each. Time will tell which way it ends up being.

It also uses a HEPA filter to block out allergens in the air and stop those annoying engine sneezes! Dry and oiled filters are a thing of the past, lol.
