I have an 2011 SS/RS so it has the red SS badge front and rear. What does a red RS indicate? A 1S RS? I am too old to retain those kinds of facts, but not too old to drive a Camaro.

Red means it has the RS option. All RS optioned cars have a Red RS when the Ss option is not ordered.

It indicates that you have a 2SS which comes with the RS Package

You can get a 2SS without the RS option that will have white SS emblems.

If it has a red RS, it is a V6 with the RS package. The SS will have a red SS (like your's) if it has the RS package, or a white SS if it doesn't have the RS package.

Definitely not true! 2ss has nothing to do with the rs package or the ss being red.

No, the RS option is available for both of th SS models and is not standard. You also get body colored roof ditch moldings, silver painted wheels, rear spoiler, darker tail lights and HID headlamps with halos.

(The badging has nothing to do with 1ss vs 2ss vs 1LT vs 2LT vs LS)

2SS leather interior

non RS: no emblems for V6 and White SS emblems for V8
RS package: red RS emblems for V6 and red SS emblems for V8
