Looks like 409 SS. Probably why it's cheaper than some of the others. Nice looking setup although i'm not a fan of the Hpipe. You'd think they would do both H and X to catch a larger market.

I think it's aluminized steel and not SS. HT makes X pipes for other branded systems, not sure if they chose the H more for the retro sound or because they were able to make more power with it. I think it's time for an email to find out their reasoning.

Well they say they made 20+ hp with this system. Heard that on the show
GEARZ.

He was rounding up. The dyno showed 18. What kind of dyno was that? It looked like it was mounted to the rear wheel?

I saw the Gearz last week and another show where HT went on a Camaro, and this is what made me look into it.

For those handful of you following along, I got a reply back from HT already.

"I do have this available in 409 ss. We sell so much more aluminized tube than ss, so we are able to keep the pricing lower there vs ss, which because we use so much less, pricing is higher there.

We use the h because of a few reasons. We like the sound much better. We like the power band of the h vs x better. We got +17 rwhp on this with the h (but did not test an x). On the 11 mustang, +21 with an h, +6 rwhp with an x. Srt8 challenger +44 for 08, +48 for 09 (again, did not test an x here, if you get 20+ you've got a winner). But we like the numbers shown on the h on late model muscle cars.

Normally we see higher rpm hp increase out of an x, and low end tq out fo the h. But the h has been performing well on our latest tests, that's why we've been using them. Not sure if other manufacturers are even testing the h, seems like the x is seen as a tried and true fact in the industry."

This confirms it for me. Now I just have to click buy now.

It sounded pretty honest to me, noting that they had only done an X to H comparison on the 2011 Stang. Sadly I will have to dyno one more time if I do go with these. I'm not expecting much since I already have Solo highfow cats and that would lower potential gains. Oh and I have the Borla touring axleback and doesn't the Camaro come stock with the H?

I saw this on tv over the weekend also. Not sure why Heartthrob doesn't make more videos of their systems.

I know you can't rely on internet sound, but hearing it in one form or other can let us make an educated guess on if we like the sound.

Can't wait to read a Camaro5 review on this system!! The price is awesome!!

17hp gain was on a L99. By difference in exhaust system design, wouldn't it mean less on an LS3?

No I would think the ls3 would get more. I just took a listen to their 2011 mustang clip and man what a great sounding exhaust. The 5.0 mustang sounds increditiable with this system. Cant wait to hear it on a camaro.

It will sound VASTLY different on a Camaro. Mustangs, like Chally's, will sound completely different even with the exact same exhaust components.
