RLHMARINES, There are a ton of 2010 Camaro's still on dealer lots around here as well. I did a search (locate a vehicle) on 2010's within a 100 miles to me and here are the results...(um I live in rural Illinois so 100 mile radius is not a lot of dealers really). Again these are 2010 models! not even 2011's with the 12's coming out in 4 to 5 months.

2SS = 35 cars
1SS = 9 cars
2LT = 9 cars
1LT = 4 cars
LS = 0

Over 50 still new on the dealer lot never owned 2010's in farm country USA and no rebates yet. If you look at the number of used 2010 and 2011 already in the market in the same area is is obvioius you can pick up an under 10000 mile used 2SS 2010 Camaro for under $30000. The dealers are going to have to give some serious price breaks on these new ones on the lots or they are going to sit through the 2012 models arrival OR find a complete fool for paying MSRP on a nearly two model year old car which is already depreciated $5000 to $7000.

Most of those VIN's come up with Nov '10-Jan '11 build dates!!! ALOT of those cars were built in Jan 2011 so he most likely just got in a big shipment. The Convertible was built in May, there is a 2010 but probaby was used as a test drive vehicle and has miles...

Here:
http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...ticker.pdf?vin=

Copy that link and put it in your browser, after the equals sign put in the VIN they have on the website and it will show you the window sticker... The build date is on the top and will look like this 120110121.
1 is the JOB, 2011 is the year, 01 is the month and 21 is the day..

Those are the remaining 2011's that Ford is pushing out.. If he ordered them he knows he can sell them..

Do you not know that the Mustang was just defeated by GM last year for the first time in 24 years?

I do know that the mustang outsold the camaro even though the camaro had more power and was a better performance car thru all of the '70s, most of the '80s and all of the '90s. But the mustangs on the fox body was a light weight car and had a better seating position during the '90s-'02 but the camaro was far and away the faster car. Women bought more stangs which is a good thing that the camaro is duplicating with this model due to style even with some people's issue with rear visibility. Competition is great for the soul and the camaro has a lot of soul.

Really, does it really matter which car sells more? Are you benefiting at all from the $$ GM is making from Camaro sales, are you? NOPE! So what's the big deal? In the grand scope of things, Mustang has and will always (in our lifetime) outsell Camaro and the Toyota Corolla will outsell any car in the world. Camaro takes 1 year or two but it will take the Camaro 20 years straight of outselling the Mustang to even come close. Just be happy you got a Camaro or a Mustang now.

And let me say that this local chevy dealer is not the one that I deal with, I purchased in the past from them but they routinely mark-up new camaro models when they hit the street. They do my service work if I can't make it back to my preferred dealer.

I guess it has to happen somewhere because it sure isn't performance based...

I could not agree with you more, but I do have stock in the new GM. I will be a GM man like all my relatives, for the most part, until I die. But I do not let my gm loyalty get in the way of admiring good cars from any other domestic manufacturer (Big 3) and others. I LOVE cars!!!

EDIT: My crystal ball say's it's too close to call on the future pony car sales champ but the "Sleeping Giant" has awoken from his slumber.

If I remember correctly the '57 Ford outsold the '57 Chevy, but we all know which is referred to as the classic of that era. You can't fix ugly but you can make more power. Just kidding. Design is King!!! It's all good because the bottom line is that we all win in the end. The american economy.

Let's all hope, for our economy's sake and the sake of the thousands of people employed by GM, that it will continue to make cars that people will buy.

GM begged and borrowed > $50 billion to stay afloat.

Last year, GM had trouble paying it back.

Ford doesn't have as big a worry.

Yep, I think that is good advice for all three car makers. It wasn't long ago, that they were not making cars that people would buy. All of them. So hopefully they all learn from the past and continue to build the cars that we can all be proud to drive. Ford, GM or Dodge.
