My heart hurts for you. I lost a brand new Cavalier in an urban flash flood and that was hard. That was the first new car I ever bought. Luckily I managed to get out uninjured. I can't imagine that happening to my Camaro. Hopefully you will come out okay with your insurance. Good news is you will now get a new one!

this is why I never live in flood planes, safe here in the cold mountains of wv. for it to flood here most of the east coast would have to flood and that would mean major glacier melt :o)

WOW,That sucks. Its definately a total loss and if they try to tell you it isnt then fight them until they give in. that car would never be right again once the water gets in the wiring. generally when the water line comes up to the console and arm rests they total it, that thing was clearly deeper than that. you should get full book, id be out shopping for my replacement!!

Glad to hear that you and your family are ok. The loss of the car, as horrible as it is, can be replaced. Best of luck with the insurance company. Will you buy the exact same car when you get your new one or is there somehting different (color, interior) that you would prefer?
