Say what you want about the srt8 dyno numbers, I will say that all dynos and conditions when dynod are diffrent and weigh heavily on results. With that said, low 300's is NOT what ive seen reported. Heres a good read for you guys that want numbers. http://www.challengertalk.com/forums...rt8-yet-11528/

about the same. I think the Camaro has a .35 Cd vs .36 on the Chally, and the Camaro will have a slightly smaller cross section. But the difference is minimal.

I have not experienced wheel hop in either the V6 or V8 Camaros I've driven. Both launch very smooth.

I dont believe them, I have yet to see anything that actually makes what it is rated at (and I have an engine dyno as well and have dyno-ed numerous new engines).

As for the weight difference, My buddies AT SRT8 weighs 4210 w/o him in it and the Stick SS Camaro is 3860 (according to the spec sheet from Chevrolet) Not saying it is accurate as I havent weighed a Camaro yet, but ... you can see where I came up with the difference. Sorry, I exaggerated 50 lbs. 350 lb weight diff, NOT 400.

BTW ... what was the MPH in that 13.3 Chally run??? The MPH will tell you a lot.
I have NEVER seen a low 300 rwhp SAE 6.1 Hemi. I'd like to see these graphs your talking of. Please post your evidence.

When I talk of dyno numbers, I know there's a whole slew of variables out there that must be taken into account. I've seen them dyno from 350 rwhp SAE to 375 rwhp SAE through the automatics. But, roughly, the vast majority are in the 365 rwhp range.

And my friends SRT8 came in at 4100 lbs.

He's also comparing a stick camaro to an auto srt8 which makes a big diffrence.

I just looked, 3913lbs for an auto SS. Now keep in mind this is DRY weight. Also you dont know if it was a stripper or a 2SS loaded. So put on all the fluids, leather, and so on and your just about even. Face it, only in your dream world is the srt8 signifigantly heavier than the camaro.

This means they twist at different rates, and so want to "hop" at different rates, effectively cancelling themselves out with some other resonance modifications. Wheel hop is all but eliminated on a factory Camaro.
Yes... and to quote Al Oppenheiser when asked at Indy about wheelhop in the Camaro, given the experience with GTOs and 1st Gen CTS-Vs... "What wheelhop?!?

Best regardSS,

Elie

Still living in that dream world Gator? Its one thing to make a post saying someone is wrong, its another to back it up with facts. Where are yours, the weight I posted for the camaro is straight from the spec sheet off this website.

And my post was stupid?
