I like the V-6, but I love the V-8.

The real question is are you happy with the Camaro you bought? You're the one who had to write the check, so that's what matters.

So then why do these threads keep popping up if "there's no difference".

Look, I like both Camaros, but you know there are always the people that comment "why didn't you get the V8".

As far as being cooler, the rumble of the V8 is definately cooler in my opinion. I'm not knocking the V6...but there IS a difference. They aren't the same car. To think otherwise is just a form of fooling yourself into thinking they are the same. They aren't.

426hp is more than i'll ever use...I just wanted a v8 for the sound. Also i've had my Bonneville SSE for 11 years, and wished the whole time it was an SSEI just because i wanted top of the line, not because i needed more power. Pretty dumb, i know.

I think it matters a lot less in the real world then on the forum. In my months of ownership and all the compliments I get I have had exactly only one guy ask if it was the v8 and he couldnt even tell. The outside world just recognizes it as a Camaro

Not dumb at all, you got what you wanted and that's what it's all about.

If the stars align right, I may have a ZL1 along side my v6.

I personally just love the sound of a V8. As long as you are happy in your choice who cares what others think.(well you may have to impress a Wife or SO LOL) Just make sure you are happy with your choice and live with it. Don't rebadge a car to make it something it is not. We used to live in Vegas and used to see "regular" Mercs and Bimmers and even Hondas with AMG and M3/5 badges LOL. Not going to impress people who could care less about cars and fool people who really are car enthusiasts. You would make them laugh though. Enjoy your car.
